Guest guest
Dear Marri 35 I am not a doctor and you never see Dr. or Ph.D before or after my name. I agree with the answers you got from the group concerning survival rates with or without BMT. I speak as a long term survivor. There are other drugs besides Gleevec and Sprycel. I know know where you are from, but there is a website where you can research all the new trials and where they are being held. BMT is the procedure of last resort these days. You really do need to consult with another CML specialist my dear to ease your fears if you cannot rely on published facts from medical journals. I have been in 5 trials that have not done anything to get me to CCR, I am still in CHR. There is no reason to panic at this time in your journey, how long have you been diagnosed? Have you had a mutations test? There is no one size fits all, as each one can attest, but there is something out there for you; you will have to advocate for yourself and ask questions from the best resources. I would hope that everyone who has been in long term remission or knows someone who is but does not post to reassure you that you can live a long time without a BMT. Skip out there in Nova Scotia is a prime example, he has had CML for 30 years and still plays the organ in church. Keep the faith, Marri 35, Lottie
