Guest guest
Dear Claudemir, If I didn't think you were serious, I would have to laugh. That would really be a miracle. I know one woman in Canada who has been in remission for a number of years after taking Inteferon for CML, and if there are others, they are few and far between. Believe me, you don't want to take Inteferon unless it is a last resort. There was a trial with Gleevec and Peg Intron, which is a different type inteferon where it was taken only once a week, but I think that may have been discontinued. The people I know who were on it claim it was a success. Some people just cannot tolerate Inteferon. As Tracey said, only a bone marrow transplant is considered a cure, but there are a lot of issues to be considered. Some fail. Some have relapsed and have to go back on the very drugs that failed them, but they are responding reasonably well and are living as well as they can, just as before they had the transplant. Once you have been diagnosed you should try to learn as much as you can, then you will soon become more confident as you see that others are living long and even productive lives, keeping their jobs. Please ask questions until you are satisfied that you know enough to discuss your CML with your doctor. Your doctor will appreciate your being informed. Wishing you all the best for the future and a long life. Blessings, Lottie
