Dear Kristie,

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. I will soon be 80, but I

have lived with CML for nearly 12 years. If your grandmother is experiencing

nervousness, I would suggest her seeing a neurologist who could evaluate her and

give her something for her problem. There are many new drugs and tests. I know

because I see a neurologist for pain, neuropathy and anxiety. She could have a

problem with Gleevec. There are drug induced tremors and it sounds like what you

are describing. You can use the search engines as resources. I have given you

one to start your search:

Have her bring the instructions in her packet of Gleevec or call the

Novartis Hotline to get information to bring her doctor. I know there are a lot

of websites with articles on Chemo Brain that I have brought to my neurologist.

He was very skeptical, but I challenged him to read the articles and then tell

me there was no such thing as Chemo brain. At my last visit, he told me he had

been reading about Chemo brain and all it took was one patient with a problem.

Also remember at 80 years of age, she will not have the same memory she had when

she was younger. They have tests for that, too. I had a P.E.T. brain scan and

they found nothing in my brain, LOL, so it is chemo and aging process.

Medicare will pay for this if it is only a head scan. Please pass this on to

her, and if she needs help in getting information I know you will be available

for her. Bless you for taking care of your grandmother even with your own set

of problems.

Sharing the love in your heart can make peace a reality,

Lottie

I am sorry if you get this twice, but after I sent it the first time, it was

returned to me, so I am trying again.
