Guest guest
Dear Lora, I was surprised to read that your husband was instructed to take Sprycel while fasting 2 hours before and 2 hours after. I began a trial with this drug in 2003 and those were the instructions we received, too, but since it's approval by FDA, we are no longer required to fast, we can take the Sprycel with or without meals. There should be instructions on the bottle or with the packet. I'm glad he is tolerating it, I never found that I was nauseated with that drug. They are all different, so you may find that some of our readers have a problem with taking their drugs and some don't. If he feels he would like to take it with meals or not have to fast for 4 hours twice a day, perhaps he should take this up with his doctor or speak to a pharmacist. Sometimes they know more about it than the doctors. I had a lot of meds to take, some fasting and some not, so the doctor told me to go and talk to a pharmacist. I did and showed her all the meds I needed to be fasting for and she mapped out a schedule for me so I wouldn't have so many restraints about eating. Best of luck. Blessings, Lottie
