Hi Sharon,

Did you have high platelets when you were diagnosed? What is your

history with platelets in terms of the numbers. There really isn't a

big difference between 519 and 501 and those numbers are only

slightly elevated anyway.

Rising platelets can SOMETIMES be an indication of disease activity

(which is probably why your doctor mentioned the possibility of

raising your dose) but there are also other reasons that could

explain why they rose.

When I was diagnosed my platelets were 1600 (or 1.6 million) and they

took quite a while to get to normal, much longer than my white

count. My white count was normal in 3 weeks but my platelets took

about 6 weeks so if your count rose due to you being off all drugs,

it might take a little bit of time for them to come back down.

Let us know how your next tests go,

Tracey
