Guest guest
Craig,I am also 68 and had my ICD replaced in December 2011. No lead replacement. I didn't find the experience all that bad. I guess we are all different.I'm not going to worry about what the next replacement might be like. Heck in six years they may have figured out a way to eliminate the leads all together. Wouldn't that be great. A friend recently asked what it was like to have an ICD as she was told she needed one. I think those of us with an ICD need to promote the positives of having an ICD. My first one paced me out of VT once and that is enough for me to be happy it is in there. I just had a couple of teeth extracted and that was much worse than the ICD replacement. Maybe at my age you only remember the most recent event?Joe Schmidt On Thu, Mar 8, 2012 at 10:04 AM, Craig <craig.peterman@...> wrote: I am age 68 now. The Doc capped the existing lead. Sounds like both leads will have to be removed with I am 73 to 74. Think I will talk up smoking and drinking to avoid that. As a Widower all I am doing is hanging around to draw a retirement check.
