Hi Eva, did they give you this info over the phone, or send it to you? If they

didn't send it, did you remember to ask them if they would send you a copy, by

mail, or email? It's nice to have, because some on the list can explain

everything to you, it may help put your mind at ease. I've had cml for a long

time, but still have to ask someone smarter than me how to interpret the

results, I don't remember a lot of technical stuff. Bobby

dont know for sure what all this means but it has helped a lot to be able to

Thanks Bobby, no I didn't but I will. Sounds like a good idea. Do they have to

give me a copy? I am in Canada , I dont know if it is different here. I was

given trouble for looking through my file at my family doctors office once. Eva

Well in the good ole US of A, they will if they feel like it, and won't if they

dont. Depends on your doctors. I have never had a problem, but then I have

been in a trial one way or another for the last 8 years, and I think that may be

why I get them. On the other hand I have heard of some drs. giving others a

hard time. After all, it's our body, our blood, our life we are discussing

here, one would think all the information about it would readily be forthcoming.

It's worth a try, give the nurse a ring....Bobby

Hey Eva,

Good luck and big hugs for tomorrow.

Zavie is right (as always) about the tape recorder because the information is

flowing so fast and your brain may still be on 'stunned'.? At least I was!?

?

Another suggestion is to have a friend/family go with you and ask them to take

notes so you can listen to the doc and look him (or her) in the eyes while they

are answering.? Then at least you have the notes to check later.

?

Ask for the doc, or the assistant's email so you can ask more questions later.?

?

Breathe and think calm thoughts.

We are with you in spirit!

Blessings,

Rhonda

HI all, I go see Dr. Talpaz Thurs. for labs, a bma and a visit with him. My

daughter goes with me to keep notes, as I could never remember everything

he says. I am also going to meet up with Len and Ernie Paschal, Len is in the

XL228 ( I think I have that right) tiral there with Dr. Talpaz. We'll have

dinner together, and I will spend the night, and we 3 girls are going

shopping the next day. Len and I get electric scooters at the mall and just

zoom all over, have lunch and in general just have a great girls day out. Anyone

in the area?

Feel free to join us, the more the merrier. And Eva, good luck to you

tomorrow, and I thought I'd tell you guys, Lottie called, her computer is

momentarily down....Bobby

That wasn't quite as scary as I expected. I am seeing a Dr. Stakiw who trained

under Dr. Lipton at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.

My numbers are LKCS-231.0

HGB-100

HCT-0.304

MCW-99.0

RDW-1405

PLT-371

MPV-7.7

What all this means I do not know other than my white cell count is the same as

3 weeks ago . I am being started on 400 Mg Gleevec

Hydrea, alloprins and lorazapam.

I have to go back every week for the next four weeks and we will see how it

goes. I also have to go to a chemo information meeting next Friday from 2-4.

Thanks for all the hugs and support Eva Brown

Hi Eva,

I'm not sure what is happening to your postings but several of them

have come back empty. In other words it seems like you're trying to

reply to someone's post but when you send your reply, it's empty. Are

you maybe hitting the " post " button before you write the post?
