Guest guest
Dear Group, There is a new trial coming soon from Araid. AP24534 – a novel multi-targeted kinase inhibitor – has been designed to treat drug-resistant chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). This new drug will be in a drug-resistant CML group, according to initial clinical trials – the major clinical challenge facing physicians caring for such patients. Introduction of AP24534 into clinical development, targeted for later this year, will yield further support for the effectiveness of our proprietary drug-discovery technologies and our focus on building a pipeline of internally discovered small-molecule oncology product candidates. http://www.ariad.com/wt/page/chairman_view_july2007 This should be ready for trial by the end of the year. Hang in there, there's another life preserver coming your way. Blessings, Lottie
Guest guest
LOTTIE, I ASKED DR. TALPAZ ABOUT THE DREADED T 3151 AND HE SAID THAT IS WHAT XL228 IS FOR ALSO, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT. I THINK HE IS WAITING FOR THE ARIAD TRIAL TO START AT U. OF MICH. BUT, LIKE SPRYCEL, IT WILL START AT A VERY LOW DOSE AND WORK UP. I AM ON 7.2 IN THE XL228, AND LEN IS ON 3.6, SHE WILL GO TO MY DOSE IN A FEW WEEKS. I MAY KNOW THURS. HOW I AM DOING, THEY DID A FISH LAST WEEK, I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THE RESULTS TAKE, BUT THEN THEY WILL COMPARE TO THE FIRST ONE THEY DID, AND WE WILL KNOW. IF IT IS NOT DOING ANYTHING, I MAY ASK DR. T TO LET ME GO ON TASIGNA, IT SEEMS TO BE DOING WELL FOR OTHERS, BUT I DON'T WANT TO START AT 800, I WANT TO START AT 400, I AM A WOOS! I GO TO ANN ARBOR WED. EVENING, AND WILL DO LABS AND THE INFUSION IN THE MORNING, AND COME BACK HOME. WILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED, HOPE I DON'T UP-CHUCK AGAIN!!!! Well I have had 2 emails from them already today and I am happy to report to your that you can also contact them if you want to find out if there is a trial near you. This is one of their email responses. " I can tell you that MDACC is one of two centers that are currently open and accepting patients. The trial is very early stage and is designed to assess appropriate dosing. The trials designed to fully explore efficacy will come later in the program. That said I would leave it to you and the physicians at MDACC to determine if you may be a candidate for the program. " If anyone is interested, write me and I will give you the name and email address to contact them. This is a highly touted trial and is also used in treating the dreaded mutation T315i.
