You will see a few different photo albums, the one you want to click on is called " Gleevec Rash " and it's the fourth one in the list. Sign in and you will then see the photos. Click on the one that says rash. The rash started two months into the trial, did not clear up until almost the end of summer. So, it is a distant memory, a bad one, but long gone.. Guest guest Posted March 28, 2008 Report Share Posted March 28, 2008 I had the exact same rash after 4 months of being on Gleevec. My skin would peel in chunks and it was incredibly itchy and oozy. I cannot quite remember how or under what treatment it went away but I took 3 days off work and soaked my body in epsom salts and used a cream ointment and literally stayed off my feet. I originally thought that maybe it was a horrible case of Athlete's feet but I had schaley patches on my legs but not near as bad. It may have been excerbated by wearing enclosed shoes. After months of treatment it finally went away and I have had no reacurrence of the extreme but I still have one really bad (not oozy but bruised looking) spot on my leg and small patches on my legs, yet not phsoriasis nor exema. andejane <andejane@...> wrote: Thank you Sharon, Tracey and Bobby. Maybe you already told us all of this but I missed it somewhere along the way. I am curious because I had a very bad rash while I was on gleevec also. I don't think it was quite as bad as yours but it was all over my face and arms and legs and chest. I was so so scarred from I t I had to go to a dermatologist. They put me on a special bleaching cream. Obaji -it worked-but as soon as the dr. saw me with the rash he stopped my gleevec. I was off for about three weeks before I started Sprycell---then after three years developed bad side affects to that(Plurel Effusion) so now I am on Tasigna. On it for two weeks and no side affects yet. 400mg. But my main question is are you still on gleevec???? And does acupuncture work? Then I went to Gleevec/Zarnestra, it did not work, both of these combinations were trials at OHSU. I got into the BMS trial for Sprycel in July of 2004, reached ccr in 10 months, all was well, until Dec. of 2006, when pleural effusion came along. I have had problems with Sprycel since, and I believe Dr. Talpaz is going to take me off Sprycel shortly. I am no longer in ccr, so hope to get on a new drug soon. I am now on Tasigna (400mg) and Bobby I have never felt better. Full of energy. Blood counts good. But of course I have only been on for 16 days. I am taking advantage of it.
