Guest guest
Dear Tammy, It depends on the doctor and the drug. If you are not having liver probems, small amounts of Tylenol would be acceptable, according to the information I have seen about Tylenol/Gleevec. I posted some of the latest information on Gleevec last week and that information you are seeking may well be in that statement. I didn't read it because I am no longer on Gleevec, but I posted it for the benefit of those who are. It was a PDF file. You can go to the Novartis, also, they provide you with a hotline. Some people cannot tolerate aspirin and I am one of those. My rheumatologist told me not to take Ibuprofen, so he gives me Etodolac. All of these are n-saids (not sure about Tylenol, but that is processed through the liver as is Gleevec). He also warned me that all of these drugs are capable of causing heart attacks and strokes. I had both on Vioxx, so we do have to be careful and do our homework. You can always email or call the company who manufactures your drugs if there is no monograth attached to your Rx. If you get it through a drug store, they are supposed to furnish you with a monograth about the drug and if you have questions, you can always ask them. Just to get my business, they are glad to field my questions. LOL. Best wishes, Lottie
