Guest guest
What size pillow do you use? Does it support the knee a little or a lot? I have tried the pillow idea, but just haven't been able to get it to work when my knee is acting up. ~Karma We have had one for a couple of years. I have a bad knee and have found that by putting a pillow under my knees that I do not have any problems. Both my husband and I use it. Guest guest
Tracey- This is one strange journey- I woke up today no pain in my shoulder- still have the stiff neck. I used to live in Pa- I threw out my back shoveling snow. Today in Ca hmmm probably in the 70's. I just want to say again how helpful your CML knowledge is- so send me your address and T shirt size- I wonder when Warriors should become Survivors or do we fight this thing for the resy of our lives? Guest guest
Hi Chi, about survivors. When I was dx, I called the LLS to see if they had a group I could go to for information, etc., and as luck would have it, they were having their very first meeting shortly. There were about 30 people there, and they started off by asking who were guests and who were survivors. I did not know what a survivor was. Was it someone who had cancer and was cured? So when it came my turn to introduce myself, I stated I had no idea what a survivor was, but I had had cancer when I was 39, now at 65 I had leukemia, did that make me qualify?? Of course it did. Another thing I well remember that night, the nurse who was doing all the talking, said we would go through 3 stages when we were dx. 1) anger - why would this happen to me 2) denial - this is not happening, it will go away 3) grateful - we would eventually become grateful we were dx with cml and not brain cancer, or bone cancer etc. With me, she was wrong about the first two, but right on with the third. I thank God every night I only have cml. We are all Surviving Warriors, and unless a miracle happens, shall do battle with cml for the rest of our lives. But people battle diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney failure, etc, etc, etc, all of thier lives, so it's no big thing. We're better off now than we were even 8 years ago, and it will continue to get better with the new drugs they are researching. And remember, being a survivor with cml is better than the alternative (unless you have a bmt )Bobby china neal <chimera46@...> wrote: Tracey- This is one strange journey- I woke up today no pain in my shoulder- still have the stiff neck. Guest guest
What a wonderful outlook , I am still mad , but I try to be optimistic and I know things could be so much worse. I have to keep myself from playing the " why me " ? card. It is getting a little easier. Thank you so much for the groups encouraging words. You have helped more than you will ever know.
