Guest guest
Hi Group, because of problems with PE, my Sprycel dose has been lowered, and I have to have labs done every week. Normally the wbc is around 3,000. Because I was off Sprycel a while back, the wbc gradually increased, up to 11,000 and started to go down, to 8,000 when they increased the dose to 40. Today the wbc was up to 12,000, so I am a teensy bit concerned. I go to see Dr. Talpaz March 20 for a visit, a bma and labs, I'll most likely find out then if he will keep me on Sprycel or switch me to Tasi. I'll keep you posted, but I sure wish I could stay on Sprycel, I have no side effects, as long as I can keep PE at bay. Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I think Tasi will be fine too, we will just have to get adjusted to it, like we did Gleevec at first. I am hoping if they do put me on it, it is the 400 mg, not the 800 to start. Good Luck, Bobby Sharon & Denny <onthewtr@...> wrote: Hi Bobby, I went through the same thing. I was at 70mg twice a day and PCRU. Then I lowered it to 50 Mg twice a day and got PE. Strange huh? So I am starting Tasi this Wed. But my WBC shot up just before they drained the fluid. Then went back down to 4000. I had a PCR test and waiting for the results. It will be my Base Line before I start Tasi. I did very well on Sprycel for three years. Hardly any side effects. I am worried about starting Tasi but have to do it!!!
