In addition to the eye area swelling, where his eyes are almost swollen

shut, hubby's eyes are sometimes where he looks jaundiced, etc. Though we

attributed it mostly to Gleevec, he still continues to have lighter cases while

on

Dasatinib.

At one point, while speaking with our family doctor, he mentioned that

leukemia patients were pre-disposed to blindness. This conversation occurred

because we asked about hubby taking Viagra, and the doc said absolutely out of

the question for hubby. Viagra & Levitra can cause blindness, so add that to

the leukemia...well it was just out of the question.

Hubby does have to see an opthamologist at least every 6 months. His

various docs just wanted him to see a specialist because they were

uncomfortable

with his eye situation. Then add the various times his eyes weep,

etc.....well, other than prescribing eye drops the eye doc didn't have any

other

suggestions at this time since the chemo will continue daily.
