Thanks for the great info Tracey.

All the studies I have found, including some presented at the Presidents

circle/whatever at ASH in 2002 say that the prognosis is worse.? Some of the

studies done in China and overseas that are not Gleevec sponsored also say that

the der 9 can cause problems.? I'm hoping you are right and it's no big deal

with Gleevec/Sprycel.?

I'm just guessing, but that may be why they started me on the Sprycel.? I have a

call in to the doc, but no word yet.

Hi Aliza,

In people with " garden variety CML " , there is a gene on chromosomes 9

and 22 that switch places to create the famous Philadelphia Chromosome.

Some people have additional chromosomal problems though and der 9 is

just one example of another abnormality that can sometimes occur.
