Guest guest
Amgen and Ortho Biotech the makers of Neulasta and Neupogen and Aranesp and Procrit suing each other A putative class-action suit in New Jersey's federal court accuses the maker of a cancer-treatment drug of cornering the oncology clinic market with an anti-competitive tying arrangement and pricing scheme. Because of Amgen's pricing arrangement, clinics are forced to pay higher prices for Aranesp, Procrit costs $80 to $100 per dose, Aranesp $100 to $300. What do you know, they were charging Medicare $1600 for each shot of Procrit I got and the doctor said he only made a $2 profit. Don't we all feel sorry for him? Now Medicare doesn't pay for it unless you go to a big research center, I can't get it for my friendly local oncologist. Might we be reminded that Amgen only had revenues of $12.4 billion in 2006 when the law suit was filed. They have no comment. If I was guilty of charging people through the nose and other places I won't mention, I wouldn't be making any comments, either, I would hide where they couldn't find me. This is FYI and entertainment.Buy stock in Amgen, (LOL) http://preview.tinyurl.com/2stfa3 Blessings, Lottie http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1194516239400 & rss=newswire
