Dear Aliza,

In answer to your question, yes, I was resistant to Gleevec with all the

usual side effects. After 4 years, my doctor got me into the BMS trial. I am

now on SKI 606, thank you for asking. Tearing your kitchen down, wow, another

Zazzy. I'm happy you can control the asthma symptoms and that you have your

energy back. My doctor told me I didn't need them anymore, and took me off

them. He said asthma comes and goes. Yes this is an amazing group. Name your

problem and someone will respond. We are not alone.

Blessings,

Lottie

Wow , that is a big sacrifice to make for leukemia. I hope it is long

enough to donate to Childhood Leukemia Foundation. http://www.clf4kids.org/ I'm

sure the shaving will have a huge impact on raising money for leukemia. Bless

you abundantly.

Cheers,

Lottie

Dear Donna,

What you describe sounds like you could be depressed. You can go to

www.bymyside.com and read about some measures to take for different side effects

of cancer and cancer drugs. One of the things they discuss in the book is about

emotional problems. These are some steps to take:

1) Discuss your feelings with your doctor, it's very important to not keep them

to yourself.

2) Consider professional counseling to help you deal with your feelings.

3) Join a support group (which you already have)

4) Cancer patients can usualy find support from their network of family and

friends.

5) Try relaxation techiques.

6) Take the medication prescribed for you.

7) Staying positive is important in helping you fight your disease.

I hope you get to feeling better about your circumstances. Everyone handles

distress in a different way and if you need help, please ask for it.

2 hugs for you,

Lottie

P. S. Is OZ the show about a correctional facility produced by HBO. I am

curious about seeing it pop up.
