Andejane-

Welcome--

All the side effects you are experiencing are all normal for someone on

Gleevec. I was started on 600mg and about 2-3 months into it developed a bad

rash on my calves. I stayed on my meds and used the cream that the MD

recommended. I eventually increased my dose after 1 1/2 to 800mg as I wasn't

at my 3

log reduction, which I so really wanted. I wish I could tell you the

fatigue gets better, but my experience has been that it doesn't. I am now on

Sprycel and still suffer daily with fatigue. Some times debilitating.

The puffy eyes (periorbital edema) is another lovely Gleevec side effect.

For me, that came and left. I had a lot of edema throughout my body and

suffered with a swooshing in my right ear from the fluid build up. A lot of

these

side effects are annoying and not pretty but manageable. I just pushed

through them. Watch your weight and notify the MD if you start gaining steady

weight as it will most likely be fluid. Also, watch the shortness of breath

(SOB) as too, can be signs of something developing. I hav always experienced

SOB but know when its not my " normal " SOB. I hope all this makes sense.

Feel free to email and stay in touch with us.

Hugs and Hope-
