Guys I have been taking Gleevec for over 2 years and it has been working well

until last week. I went to get my results from my BMB. The doctor told me that

out of the 20 cells sample the check 5 were PH+. Furthermore he told me that it

seems that Gleevec stopped working. Thus Sprycel was the next step. I started

Sprycel on Thursday last week. I have never been so tired before. I am sleeping

up to 15 hours and after I wake up I feel light headed. Is this normal what else

should I expect. I know so little about this new drug and to be honest I am kind

of worry.

hi, everyone is different, and some people have no side effects, some are worse.

I had headaches for about 2 weeks and they went away. It also depends on what

your dose is.

Most people adapt to the side effects in a month or so, some don't adapt at

all. Did you tell your doctor how you feel? I am no longer on Sprycel, but

there are many on this site that are, and perhaps will be able to help you, good

luck, Bobby

Hi Carolyn,

I couldn't help but notice how different our experiences are -- except that we

have the same outcome of PCRU which is what counts the most. I'm on 100 mg once

a day with no discernible side effects.

You have achieved PCRU on such a small dose which is amazing. I am sorry to

hear you have side effects though. Glad you're seeing the glass half full which

is sometimes so difficult to do.

I have been on sprycel for about a year and a half. I was started at 70mg bid

and that was too strong so on the advice of my ono and the medical college of

Milwaukee who confered it was decided to put me on 20mg bid with the thought

they could alway go to a higher dose. I am still on 20mg bid and in a deep

remission. There are side effects such as bone and joint pain, heart palpations

and occassionaly light headedness. The side effects are livable and I am used

to them. Sprycel is a miracle drug so far. I realize things could turn on a

dime but then there will be something else on the horizon. I am thankful for

each day and that we now have these miracle drugs that makes living a long life

a very real probablity.

Best of luck to you.

Carolyn
