Guest guest
Hello All, I am on tasigna, although here in Canada it is a trial drug called AMN107. I started it in May '07 and it god my counts going down which the Gleevec stopped doing. All well and good...but I developed psoriasis and then a deep, dark depression. I spent days and weeks in bed. I could scarcely talk to my family and wouldn't talk on the phone at all. I finally asked me Dr. what length of time I could expect to live if I dropped all the drugs. She took this to mean I was suicidal, but that was not it at all, I wasn't thinking of killing myself, just letting nature take it's course. She got me some counseling and I can now see the end of the tunnel. I'm not where I want to be but over the past 4- weeks, life has become more worthwhile. I told all the Dr's I saw that I was not interested in quantity of life without quality of life, that is still my outlook, but I am getting back some quality. Happy Easter to all. Guest guest
Dear Terry I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that How long were you on it before you got those terrible side affects? I am so glad that your dr. got you some help. Reach out-do not try it on your own or make and hasty decisions. Things will get better. Guest guest
Terry Hang in there. It does get better. I tanked too, for a short time at first, but I will say that it just all takes time.I am glad you are counseling because that can do wonders... loved it myself. One of the best things that helped me at the time was the Seigal book " Love, Medicine and Miracles. " Bernie Seigal gives you things you can do to control what you can. It made me feel more like partner in my healing ( I am a big control freak) and so I felt in charge somewhat. I would recomend it. Be well, and take really good care of yourself. Guest guest
Hi. I haven't posted in a while and I have a long story to tell. I don't have time to write it all now, but the main point is that I will be starting Tasigna as soon as I can find a pharmacy that can get some for me. I'd like to hear from some others on Tasigna. My dr. will start me at 400 mg. with the hopes to move up to 800. Please feel free to e-mail me with some info or personal experiences. I'll give more details soon.
