Guest guest
Aliza- Do you know what your platelet count is? They could be low. Gleevec does lower them. Have you had them checked recently? How much bleeding are we talking? A tinge, like from irritation or something more? Guest guest
Dear Aliza: I had rectal bleeding with Gleevec, off and on for three years. In fact, it was one of the side effects that prompted me to switch to Tasigna where the bleeding has promptly stopped. I never found a relationship between certain foods and bleeding, but I did notice that I would become more fatigued on the days (and weeks) that I would be bleeding. I was never really able to find a way to offset this side effect. With warm regards, Matt ville, FL DX January 2005 Gleevec March 2005 Tasigna November 2008 In a message dated 3/12/2008 9:13:19 A.M. Guest guest
No, unfortunately we can still have those lovely side effects from the meds even though, thank God, we are in remission. They get better, most are just bothersome however, some are painful and annoying. Those gold pills are what is saving our lives right now so embrace them and love them. Follow up with your MD if anything changes and listen to your body. You know your body best!!! We are ALWAYS, just an email away. Never feel bad about venting or complaining. This is where to come do that at. We are all walking in the same shoes. That is comforting to me.
