Guest guest
Dear Sharon, I hope the person who informed you that you had CML on July 4 was paid overtime for working on a holiday. LOL Again, I don't know why unless it is an emergency that they have to tell you news like that on a holiday. I went to the hospital with an attack of GERD, but they didn't tell me anything about my white blood count being over the top. On Monday morning after the attack, the doctor's office called and asked if I wanted a follow up and I said yes and that I wanted a CBC. Something in back of my mind kept telling me it was time for a CBC. They did an even worse thing by calling me on the phone to tell me it was CML. I rather expected they would call you in and have a consult and tell you what your options are. Truthfully when I was diagnosed in the stone ages, there weren't many options. Intefereon, and Inteferon and Hydrea. Times are a'changin' and we have so many more options now. Had I had Gleevec back then when I was younger and in the early stages, I would now be PCRU, I have no doubt. Instead, Zavie says I am the oldest turtle on the block. Tomorrow is traditional that family gathers together and eats seafood, preferably along a winding bayouside. Blessings, Lottie
