I used Effexor XR with Gleevec and didn't have any problems with it. I still

take Effexor now with Sprycel and it's fine.

Does anyone here taking any kind of antidepressant with gleevec? Or

anyone who has a knowledge about it? Because i see all of the

antidepressants interact with gleevec.

I have taken Zoloft (an antidepressant) while on Gleevec and now on Spyrcel

with no problems. I am taking it for hot flashes since I can' take hormones.

It is supposed to help with all the side effects of menopause such as

dryness, sex drive, sweats, flashes, etc. I only take the 50mg daily and have

never experienced any difficulties. I had to have a complete hysterectomy 7

years ago at age 29 and taking no hormone replacement sucks!!!

hi, yes i've been on lexapro for years with gleevec, no side effects

and i am pcru for 5 years now. lexapro is a milder one. no side

effects but it does its job, i tried a bunch of other ones and they

didnt work for me. but everyones body is different, so try some and

choose the one thats for you. i dont believe there are too many

antidepressants that interact with gleevec or my doc wouldnt have

prescribed all of the others to me. good luck, and in my opinion, they

help tremendously, it takes about 2-3 weeks to work, but once it kicks

in, you feel like yourself again. gina

Dear Yusuf,

I took Wellbutrin while on Gleevec for about two years. I've since

stopped taking it, but not because of any negative interactions.

Neither my primary care doctor nor my hematologist ever said anything

about antidepressants interacting with Gleevec.

I take Celexa (citalopram). I may be switching soon to Eflexor.
