FISH tests can be done with peripheral blood (blood from your arm vein) or from bone marrow but they aren't nearly as sensitive as PCR's. PCR's typically have a sensitivity of 1 in 100,000 cells (a good PCR at least) whereas a FISH test only looks at about 200 cells.
