Guest guest
That jasmine oil from the Indian grocery is actually mineral oil scented with a jasmine fragrance, and is usually used as a hair oil. It does smell divine, and can be used as a perfume or in other bath products where mineral oil is used. Mineral oil does not saponify, so it wouldn't be appropriate for soap - even MP, since it will weep at concentrations high enough to provide scent. I usually have a bottle of it around because it is so wonderfully inexpensive - I've used it as a perfume, as a bath oil, even used a drop as a hair oil... Hope that helps! Jules PS: please folks, don't bother bombarding me with " mineral oil is so evil " posts/mails...I don't buy the hype that says that something made with petroleum is inherently evil (it's not) and I've heard it all before the last time or two I posted about this jasmine oil...*grin* _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
