Guest guest
Hi folks, A bit of trivia from this side of the pond. The close relations that have been slowly developed between Greece and Turkey continues - this time to secure funds from the European Union's Environment and Culture Fund to build the world's second largest nature park and open-air museum, the largest being in Colorado, USA. Fossil beds found in the Turkish village of Ozluce in 1993 will be protected by a park called Turolian Nature Park 2000 - which will be operated under the auspices of the Culture Ministry and the local Governership. The fossils are of animals that lived 5-10 million years ago - mostly the forerunners of modern-day cattle, giraffes, rhinoceri, large-snouted animals, pigs, horses and other animals. The intent is to protect the fossil beds from exploitation but leave them open to study by world scientists, as well as promote the region's natural and cultural wealth to the world. When countries work together we can do some good things. Same goes for people - huh? Y'all keep smiling, Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
