So what is the proper balance of cal and mag?

CalMag supplements are not balanced because they are too high in calcium and too low in magnesium causing a mag defincincy and other problems.

Don't know wether this link will work as most of mine do not.

Gayla, I can only answer that for myself because it all depends on diet. As an example, I eat a lot of RAW Dairy (goat milk) and organic yogurt, lots of green leafy vegetables mainly spinach and therefore my calcium levels are high. However, I am not able to get enough magnesium in my diet. A good source of magnesium is Transdermal Magnesium Therapy which would not cause a mg overload. If I took a regular cal/mag supplement I would end up with too much calcium and that causes so many health problems. Anne TX

Gayla, Janet posted earlier.... The general dosage is ½ as much magnesium as calcium, so if you are taking 600 mg of calcium you should be getting 300 mg of magnesium along with it.Gayla <aeranch@...> wrote: So what is the proper balance of cal and mag? Anne,

You may not be getting as much calcium as you think. Spinach has

calcium, but it also contains oxalic acid which prevents calcium

absorption.

If modern dairy causes those problems it's because of the junk they

give the cows and the chemicals they add.

I grew up drinking all the fresh raw milk I wanted (lots!) and I've

been told that I am not at risk for osteoporosis.

If I drink one cup of commercial milk a day I cannot lose weight! We

have a dairy near us that heat pasteurizes their milk and the cows are

rBst (or whatever they call it) free. They also get to pasture some in

the summer (Michigan). They also offer non-homogenized milk, which is

what I buy.

I can drink 3-4 cups a day and still lose weight.

And best of all it tastes like real milk. I gave up drinking milk

years ago because it tasted as if the cows had been pastured on stink

weed!

And dairy, even raw, causes your body to be

acidic and it takes calcium from your long bones to help neutralize

said calcium. Dairy is the worst form of calcium.
