Guest guest
Oh alright then. Thank you. Beammacht Pearl food in the bible Genesis 1:29 " 'And God said, 'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.' And it was so." And that's what it says. Shari

And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.' And it was so. " ~~~~And some folks aren't offering every quote in the book about food and meat, either!! " Genesis 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. Genesis 9:3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. " It's a big, complex book with lots and lots of words in it (!!), and each one of us could go through it and pick the words that suit our preferences. Even *I* could, and I'm not Christian! Which leaves us right back at square one - every person has the right to find and adopt WHICHEVER dietary path they feel fits them best! It's only superior or inferior in the way your body responds to it. There are NO (IMO) moral values either way. Stay tuned for a whole new question about something, as Monty Pyhton might have phrased it, " completely different " !! Guest guest
There is much discussion there as to whether he actually did eat fish or not.. but fish only not meat. Guest guest
Things changed after Adam and Eve sinned - prior to that there was no eating of any meat. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Didn't "meat" in the Bible often mean any food? Not necessarily animals? Guest guest
If you study the Essenes you will find Jesus was a raw food vegetarian. Many believe Jesus was an Essene and the Biblical writings became skewed with every translation. Shari
Guest guest
Yes it was the word for food back then. You are correct. Guest guest
I'd be happy to take this off topic if anyone is interested SV <shavig@...> wrote: If you study the Essenes you will find Jesus was a raw food vegetarian. Guest guest
Exactly Evie, it is a highly subjective matter, which was the point I was trying to make (and to make you all smile a bit). Janet From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of autumn3scorpio Sent: Friday, November 02, 2007 1:22 PM health Subject: Re: food in the bible > > Every bird of the air and everything that creeps on the earth, everything > that has the breath of life.. Sounds like meat to me ;-) > > > > Janet > ********************************* ~~~~~~I really wasn't going to get into this conversation again, but I can't seem to help myself. Not only does the flying, creeping (wasn't swimming mentioned also? Didn't Jesus eat fish?), etc, sound like fauna (animal), but it mentions - if you read it like I do - that the green folk (plants) breathe also. That's MY perspective. Everything living - flora or fauna - is just that. Living. So no matter how you slice the sandwich, something DIED so I could eat. I don't think the point is to moralize or agonize or feel guilty - or superior - for whatever choices you make. This is, after all, the system that Source set up for us to participate in, be a part of. I think (but then, this is just me), that the point is to be thankful, and respectful, and compassionate for whatever it is you just consumed so you could continue. That's what *I* think.
