I'm not familiar with the product, but if it just contains the mineral Iodine,

you should know by the way you react if you eat a fairly large amount of seafood

from the ocean; if you have no reactions, you probably aren't. But if you want

to be sure, then why whouldn't a skin patch test (like dermatologists use) using

a round " spot' band-aid saturated with a couple or three drops of the solution

on the little mini " pad " area placed on a sensitive area like the hairless side

of your forearm for 24 hrs. or so tell you if you have an allergy?

List, does anyone know how to tell if one is allergic

to Lugol's Iodine Solution?? recommends its use

in certain situations. But internal use can be

dangerous if allergic. Thanks. pj

Miss and others, Good that you are going very cautiously before just

taking anything. What goes into our bodies should be of concern to us.

Lugol's is truly a lifesaver; even I really do not believe I would be

here if it was not for my taking it for bacteria many times and always

the Dr. recommended way. Administer lugols in this way & dose when

a person doesn't know if they are allergic: Fill a glass of water (#1)

and put one drop of lugols into it (do not drink). Fill the second glass

with water (#2) and add one teaspoon of the water from glass #1 to glass

#2. Drink the water now in glass #2. Later (a few hours) if you feel

okay; then also (and then only if you feel okay) drink the #1glass of

water. If you are still fine, then proceed as usual.

I know some here would say, Well, what if you don't feel okay? Then

what? If you did feel slightly sick from the drinking of the water as

set out above then you would not go on to drink the #1glass of water, nor

would you take iodine or lugols again, at least until it would be proven

to you that you are not allergic. I hope this is clear and

understandable.

Thank you for all of your writings, I do appreciate reading them.

Thank you! That's what I am intending to do. Don't want the premade.

Thanks a bunch, I'll call them in the morning! :-)

I just called these people and they advised I need a " license " , I replied I

have a business license and a resale license, but not a chemist or doctor

license. They're forwarding a credit application and we'll see what

happens!

Thx,

Hi everyone,

I recently responded to a post on the vegan macrobiotics group

to questions about a veggie wash. I suggested the poster try

Lugol's. I then received a shocking reply from another member of

the group cautioning me about using Lugol's because it was known to

cause thyroid problems.

He said " I used a very small amount on my skin and then had a

medical test for iodine levels and it was off the scale high -

thousands of times the upper range limit. then after a few months it

was back down "

I said that Dr. recommended it in her books.

He said " I know - years ago I took it internally like she

recommended and nearly burnt a hole in my stomach! "

I said that Dr. " states that Lugol's stimulates the thyroid to

make more thyroxine. " I asked if that was his concern?

He said " no - not at all. It is the chemical bonding of it - it has

one bond which is something toxic " but he did not elaborate.

Can anyone advise me on this post?

Thanks,

Lori

As far as I am concerned, I have been taking Lugol's

once a week (5 drops in a glass of water) for years

now... and had no negative effects... Dr. writes

that it is good for hypothryroidism and relaxing...

and it seems to help me...

I got it some time ago through the Dr. Research

Association (1-800-220 3741...

www..com...info@...)... One bottle

lasts a long time for me.

I have not noticed any problems with it... and I used

to have serious intestinal problems (after almost

dying from dysentery).

Hi list, For those who are talking about taking Lugol's liquid iodine I suggest

to start just just one/two drops a day for a few days and watch your blood

pressure. If you do not need iodine your blood pressure might shoot up. If OK

increase by two drops every two days never to exceed label amounts.

Regards

You can buy potassium iodide and/or iodine granular from Fisher

Scientific in 500 gm jars. Remember potassium iodide is useful to

combat radiation exposure.

I'm sure it meant 1/2 dropper full.

And that is what I am going in for her. But what about dropper size. Really, they should have given the amount of drops.

Re: lugol's

Okay, so somebody tell me how do you measure HALF a DROP?!

It's dollalrs to donuts that if the FDA doesn't want it sold it works!

Just like with stevia. Just recently hey made Pepsi, I think it was,

remove stevia from their soft drinks as it was not "approved" as a

sweetener.

If they let stevia get a foothold in the food industry it's bye, bye

killer sweeteners. And because stevia can't be patented you know what

that would do to the bottom lines of the FOFDA. (Friends of the FDA)
