As you get older your taste buds die off so to speak.. and some out side factors help them to do that also.. Anyway.. my father turns 90 this Dec... and mom says his taste buds are shot... He is complaining that NOTHING tastes good... that it has no taste... no matter what she makes.. And I am going to throw him a surprise birthday party.. but I want him to be able to eat..and enjoy it... Any ideas??? He won't do cayenne - says it upsets his stomach... I got him to take ginger once for his stomach (GOLLY GEEE IT WORKED) (but he probably won't take it again until he is very desperate) I love my father but he can be difficult.. and he is on HBP meds too. So if anyone has some ideas let me know. Suzi List Owner

Guest guest
11 mg per day. Some foods with zinc in them are beans, nuts, whole grains, and seafood. Beef and chicken are high in it too, but they aren’t healthy in other ways. Older people sometimes develop difficulty in absorbing nutrients and he may need a supplement in that case. Guest guest
Cool.. I've passed all on to my mom... who wants to go out and get everything.. lol.. She thinks my dad will take them cause it's a vitamin once a day... He's tired of taking pills.. (can't say I blame him).. So I'll keep you all updated on the progress. It's like a thick coating and I have lost my appetite for most things. I no longer crave anything. Give Sprycel a chance to show what it can do. They took me off of it, but I still think it is the best drug I ever had. Blessings and keep on keeping on, Lottie
