after school? Myah school update

Today we received a certified letter in response to our certified letter

about Myah’s placement for the fall. All that the letter said is that we

need to schedule another IEP team meeting. They are not available until

8/15-18. School starts 8/28. I called the advocate to see when she could

make it and she is on vacation until 8/3. :-) I feel like I have been

running against the wind through this whole process, but I guess that’s just

the way it is. I do have a question as to what your kids do for after school

programs-if any. So far Myah has been in a county program so the school

would pick her up at our house and drop her off at my parents (which is

another school district). With her going to kindergarten in our city’s

school they obviously won’t take her to drop her off in another district’s

area (about 5 miles away :-) ) I imagine we will do all the shuffling we can

to get it all worked out, but do we have options? We both work full time-my

45 minutes away, my husband 30 minutes away. I’m afraid of what we would do

if we got stuck in traffic and didn’t make it home in time for the bus.
