Guest guest
Hi Carol M Now that you mention it, I do remember about the oxalic acid thing. Last year I did have the bone mineralization test and everything was OK. I now wonder what the symptoms of calcium deficiency are? I know some of what the excesses are but not the deficiencies. Thanks for reminding me about the spinach. Anne TX
Guest guest
Bone loss, softening, or disease; tetany, excessive menstrual cramping, and insomnia. Oxalic acid does interfere with some Vitamin and mineral absorptions, but is not harmful in small amounts (like from a normal serving of spinach). Like everything else, go with variety in your diet and do not overdo any one thing.
