Guest guest
Hi Max, Thanks for the web site. I had never read all of the details. I had only heard the story related by other people in the area. Guest guest
That's the one. ) Kathy R. > Did you know that essiac is a natural tonic type potion that a woman from Ontario, the Muskoka area, received from the Native Indians in the area back in the 40's. At the time it was thought to be a cure for cancer. There was a lot of testing done of it by the medical profession and it looked like it was of value. However, all of the testing stopped abruptly for some reason and she and it were declared fakes (Quelle Surprise!!!!!). > > You can still buy it in the health food stores around here and brew it up. Guest guest
HIya all I've been breweing Native American herb tea (Essiac) for Charlie since he came out of the hospital after about two years in 1992. I used it to cleanse and balance his body and provide support to the endocrine system and the liver. He got it three times a day for about two years, then slowly reduced it's use over the next two years. THen, for years we used it as a Spring and Fall tonic, for health maintenance. I just happen to have a kettle of it brewing right now. It is part of what I give Charlie for the bladder cancer he is now dealing with, I make about a gallon at a time. I get the herbs from AmeriHerb in Ames IA. Very good quality, reliable source (been dealing with them for over ten years) reasonable price, but NO website, I even offered to do a simple site for them about three years ago. They now offer an EZZIAC blend in two sizes, reasonably priced. Call for free Wholesale catalog, (800) 267-6141 or write: Ameriherb, PO Box 1968, Ames, IA 50010-1968. Guest guest
Hello, I have been taking Essiac for about one and a half month. I have 2 questions, please: 1. I don't feel anything at all. Is it normal, or should I feel any effect? I take it because I have a large ovarian cyst. 2. I buy the liquid form and I notice that it has a slight acid flavor, such as if it would contain a little bit of lemon. Is it the normal taste, or is there anything wrong? Thanks for any info. Guest guest
Rena, I am by no means an expert on Essiac, but do have experience with it. Generally, I have found that those taking it do not feel any 'significant" effects. As with most natural methods, the effect takes time to manifest. As for the flavour of what you are taking, is it store-bought/pre-prepared? Have you read the label, looked into the company and the procedures for processing it? I have made it myself, for myself and others, never used "store bought", so don't know of any taste difference in store bought. I've not had an "adic/lemon" taste, but a very bitter taste at times. Not much help, sorry. Just wanted to add my dos pesos. paz, amor, risa Blua Birdo <bluabirdo@...> wrote: Hello,I have been taking Essiac for about one and a half month.I have 2 questions, please:1. Guest guest
I buy it in Whole Foods market and supposedly all is fine. I know that natural remedies work slowly and silently, but in innumerable occasions I feel the result soon and even immediately. Guest guest
There is much discussion on this topic.. I believe when something works as is... why mess with it.. maybe add another... but then each time you add another herb (in my opinion) it lessens the effects of the others... If one herb is doing 100%..........2 are at 50%, 4 at 25% etc... SuziBlua Birdo <bluabirdo@...> wrote: The one I buy has 8 herbs. I thought it was going to be stronger than the original with 4 herbs. Guest guest
I have had the ovarian cyst for quite some time, but it was small and I expected to shrink. On the contrary it began growing. Last year after I did the ultrasound was when it grew more. The bottle says 4 ounces mixed with hot water twice a day. Guest guest
ok, when I was making my own, (4herbs) I advised many to take it 3 times a day until they started seeing improvement..... You might try that. Remember you've had this for quite some time now... the herbs can't get it gone overnite... Some people have tried some mistletoe for cysts.. I caution on this as it is one of those herbs you have to be very careful with. Guest guest
Yes, I understand that I can't expect an overnight solution, but I don't see any change in any thing, such as more elimination, or something, whatever it may be. I find this formula too expensive and this is not the only thing I'm taking. Thanks for your suggestion, Rena Re: Essiac ok, when I was making my own, (4herbs) I advised many to take it 3 times a day until they started seeing improvement..... You might try that. Guest guest
Maybe you are one of these people that don't respond to essiac.... or maybe you need only the 4 herbs.. however, I Came across this.. A tincture, pills or tea of raspberry and skullcap to help her anxiety.) The cysts disappeared in only a few weeks. Ovarian Cyst Tincture 1 teaspoon each tinctures of vitex berries, red motherwort leaves ½ teaspoon each tinctures of ginger rhizome Combine ingredients. Take half a dropperful 2 or 3 times a day. Guest guest
Hi again, Kathy,  My son mentioned Essiac Herbs for cancer to me (he wanted me to take this since I am at higher risk for cancer, not because I have been dxed with it). I am sorry to hear you had breast cancer! Glad to hear you are in recovery now, tho. Is Essiac the herbal treatment you are on?  I wish you the best; you've had alot to deal with! Diane    From: spiralwindintrees <aquilawolf@...> Subject: Re: Living in a Mobile Home? Date: Thursday, February 26, 2009, 8:02 PM Hi Diane, I've never been dianosed with MCS, though I tend to be moderately sensitive to just about everything. I have PTSD/DID, probably a milder form of ES and am recovering from breast cancer that was diagnosed last Sept. I did not do any chemo or radiation. A minor surgery and am using alternative herbs and supplements. So people ground their trailers? I tried grounding a silver mesh fabric hung over my window to shield the cell tower and that just made things worse. Perhaps I did not do everything correcly. Are their more chemicals and outgassing in a trailer than a house? Guest guest
Hi Diane, I have heard of the Essiac tea but it is not one of the many things I am using. I do drink Pau'd Arco tea. I HAVE had a lot to deal with. The traditional treatment Doctors use with cancer scare me far more than cancer itself though so steering clear of them and their advise helps me immensely. The tumour was small, just 7mm so I caught it early. I did find a holistic Doctor who ran a nutrient profile on me and found 4 things which were significantly low, three of which correspond with cancer. Glutithione, Vitamin D and Selenium, also I was low in B12. So I am focusing on getting these levels up, plus taking a number of things, including Bromilin, Curcumin, Calcium d Glucarate and I threw out the *# " @@*%* number 7 plastic bottles I used for decades to hold reverse osmosis water from the natural food store. They were advertised as safe and non-leaching but the lasted research shows they leach bisphenol-A which is a potent carcinagen. I would love to sue!!! But even thinking about that causes stress so I of course won't unless I can get in on a class action suit. That and the cell phone towers infuriate me if I think about it. Best to shrug my shoulders and be happy that I am at least informed. I also drink a lot of carrot juice and some beet, celery and lemon juice all fresh squeezed and I do other things as well. Thanks for your well wishes. Kathy > > > > From: spiralwindintrees <aquilawolf@ ...> > > Subject: Living in a Mobile Home? > > groups (DOT) com > > Date: Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 6:35 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am needing to move from here as there is a cell tower just one > block > > away plus the rent is going up once again. Guest guest
Hi Diane, I'm confident the energy exercises you gave a link for will be helpful. I am getting over a bad cold and it wasn't until I began doing some Jin Shinn Jyutsu that I had any improvement. My sinuses were so raw I couldn't stop sneezing and my eyes were constantly watering. I did a 'hold' for sinuses while taking a short nap and when I got up was about 90% better! I was very impressed and continued doing more. Today I feel so so much better. I've been using Jinn Shinn for years and it's possible it is the only reason I am still here. It might be helpful for ES if anyone wants to try it. I love it because it is so gentle. I use a book called 'The Touch of Healing' by Alice Burmeister. Happy to be doing the 'thumping' and 'cross-crawling' and other exercises now too. Guest guest
JS You will love this my friend I have a new obsession, and it is not MMS, the next best thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essiac According to Medline, based on tradition, some people take essiac tea on occasion for general health purposes, detoxification, or for healing of various ailments other than cancer. Some of these other ailments include AIDS, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, immune system disorders, liver problems, Lyme disease, and lupus erythematosus. NIH's Medline says even less evidence is available for these applications than for cancer.[5] Updating the history of Essiac, Medline says: > > All 4 videos very interesting, and sad. > /messages >
