Dear FORUM,

I am very upset by the article headlined " Gere leaves aids home in crisis " . I

would like to clarify that there has been gross misinterpretation of my sharing

on this issue.

I have always maintained that the Gere Foundation and Godrej Foundation funded

us for a period of three years which was the committment that they had made. I

had clearly shared this with the jouranalist. We had absolutely no resources

when they funded us and we would not have been able to continue our work on care

if this had not happened.

continues to be a friend of Naz India and is trying to get us funding

from other sources.

When I was asked why had stopped funding us my response was that their

focus had changed to prevention.

I am saddened that this has happened and feel it was totally uncalled for.

I am especially perturbed by the tone of the heading.
