Guest guest
Dear forum, Can anybody share that in the initial stage of the epidemic what is the proportion of the patients who really need Anti retroviral treatment? In my opinion many of us are worried about ARV if we spend sufficient time for OI mangement & counseling related to nutrition and psychosupport then the situation can chnage. Beacuse any person whomsoever becomes HIV + doesnot need ARV or even any medicine for intial period. But the negative impact of awareness and lack of good knowledge about the course of the disease make even a healthy person sick. If we strengthen our counseling center in such a way that positive people can drop in any time and they can be taught about the course of the disaes then it cna be useful. ARV is just prolongation of life that too is not without side effects and a positive person waste his crucial productive time in worrying about ARV and medicine. Even unavailability of awareness in the medical faclty about starting ARV is another problem. People prescribing ARVs even to the patients who really don't need it. We should promote judicioud use of ARVs. Total number of patients who are on ARV is not very high and sample prescription audititng should be done so that the misuse of the use of ARV can be prevented. Can we think of some kind of insurance/ contributory pension scheme for positive people. Like if at the time of detcetion of a patient as positive rather waiting for death he continues his work and give his contribution for his betterment then at he time of his need he shall be able to get the medicine and would be able live more productive good quality of life for a longer period. If the government give its all contribution in the contributory fund and throug hthis fund ARV are provided to the needy patients.
