Guest guest
Not sure if they are tinctures, or some other form of liquid extract, but you can get very high potency liquid cayenne in a dropper bottle. Below are links to 2 liquid extracts sold by WFN. http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Produ\ ct_Code=DR707-111 & Category_Code= http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Produ\ ct_Code=DR707-116 & Category_Code= Alobar On 11/11/06, Bonnie Cole <bonnieview@...> wrote: > Hello Everyone: > > Could I buy a Cayenne Tincture or would I have to make one? > > Thanks, > Bonnie > >
Guest guest
Happiest of Holidays to one and all! I am determined to make a batch of cayenne tincture and need just a little info. First, how long does this stuff keep? What kind of peppers (don't laugh) do I throw in the blender? Is cayenne powder okay or do I need fresh peppers? Is acv better or vodka? Also, I think mint leaves are to be included, right? How much? Wow, I'm really clueless, huh? (First time and all...) Hope 2008 is your best year ever! Peace on earth. Cheryl P.S. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl. Any kind of peppers are ok - fresh, dried, but usually the hotter the better. ACV or vodka is a personal choice. Vodka is said to get a little stronger tincture, but ACV does a fine job. And 2 weeks is the usual minimum time to steep the tincture. Mint is another story - I would not add mint. Tincture it separately and add together as needed. Tinctures keep indefinitely, just keep out of direct light - in a cupboard or in dark bottles.
