Cher, I don't know if I'm spelling this correctly, but it's called palmar erythema (or something like that.) Many of my clients ask me why my palms are so red when I'm cutting their hair. I've had HCV for probably 32 years since Vietnam. Red palms are an indication of cirrhosis. I keep hoping, now that I'm on combo, that the redness will go away. Guest guest
My Palms have been red for a while and I do have Cirrohsis (sp?). They confirmed a case of West Nile here today. CDC came and got blood samples and stuff either Thursday or Friday. Guest guest
Hi Cher I have red palms too....for as long as I can remember. My GI doc wasn't too concerned about that before the biopsy, he was more interested in the rash on my upper chest which I've had since as long as I can remember....of course, I can remember much anyway lol. Red palms can be a sign of cirrhosis....I've noticed that lately they have little red spots in them now....a sign that isn't good....but I'm not going to stress over it. Carol red palms Is it just me or does everyone hv the red palms. The thing is, I rem being about 14 and other kids asking me what ws wrong with my hands. Well, they had always been like that. So now, i read that it is a sign of liver disease, or lupus, and i forget what the other one ws for the red palms. Thing is way back then when I ws 14 that ws way b4 any risky behavior so wonder what gives with this. For lupus is it just a reg blood test-does anyone know?? And would my dr (gastro give me a test if it is just a blood test and wd he also give me a rhemetoid arthritis test since that is also a blood test. I just don't see any reason to go to a bunch of different dr's for these blood tests when the dr (gastro) I go to hs a lab right there. cher

That can do it for some kids. Can also be phenols or other intolerance. Or an environmental issue. Dana

I also read about red palms from iron overload or arsenic poisoning. Phenol can also cause it??? That is interesting, I guess apple has it. mei

Guest guest
Hi Barb; In studying this, I'm finding Pink's disease symptom described as pink fingers and peeling skin on the hands and feet. Nothing specifically mentioning palms. Just FYI. I couldn't find any photos. Thanks, Mark > > AND also related to " pinks disease, " the mercury poisoning young children > got from mercury-containing teething powder some years ago. > Barb > [ ] Red Palms > > > > I've read some posts in the past about red palms of hands and soles of > > feet. Guest guest
Earthmother, how old are you? If you are anywhere near menopause, it could be flushing from that. If it’s not bothering you, I wouldn’t worry though. It is much better than having bluish-hands on and off. Janet From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of earthmother1111 Sent: Saturday, December 01, 2007 8:46 PM health Subject: Red palms Is there any reason why the palms of my hands would turn red? Usually, it's when I'm at rest in the evening watching t.v. or reading. Just wondering because I think I read something somewhere about that. Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
I'm postmenopausal but still have hot flashes if I don't take the herbal combo that I'm on. I just recently came across some information that it could be related to FMS which I have and lately I had a flare-up of symptoms. I probably need to get more exercise to get the circulation going. It doesn't happen too frequently so won't worry too much. Thanks for your suggestion, anyway. > > Earthmother, how old are you? If you are anywhere near menopause, it could > be flushing from that. Guest guest
That's o.k. Apology not necessary, there is no way you could have known that I have FMS as I neglected to mention it. So, you confirm that it could be related? As well, I read that anxiety (sometimes acute)is associated with FMS? My naturopath has me on some drops for anxiety but didn't say anything about it being part of the condition. - In health , Suzanne <suziesgoats@...> wrote: > > Ok, I've heard of some cases with people with FMS... did not know you have... sorry, I should have jumped in... but been busy with xmas, planning a 90th birthday party (my dad) > goats, grandkids, and other things... Guest guest
> > > A question: is Malic acid hard on the stomach as in, heartburn? Ev here: I found malic acid to be fine as long as I didn't take it on an empty stomach. For me, this meant meal-times, not a piddly snack of some sort - otherwise the stomach cramping was quite severe. Clearly I only had that happen twice, and the second time, I thought I'd had enough to eat first! La - I thought I was going to be violently ill for a few (L o n g) moments.... Howsomever - the improvement I got from it for the fibro was worth making sure I ate first. And even though I quit taking it years ago, I haven't lost any of the ground I gained from it.
