Guest guest Posted September 13, 2005 Report Share Posted September 13, 2005 Dear Forum members, The Call for Nominations was announced in July 2005 to solicit nominations for the Communication Focal Point(CFP) for the Communities Living with AIDS,TB and Malaria for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM): India HIV/AIDS Alliance was the convener of the selection process. The Selection Committee communicated via telephone and emails in August 2005 to review a total of 14 applications that were received. THE SELECTION COMMITTEE IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT MS. PHILIPPA JUNGOVA LAWSON HAS BEEN SELECTED AS COMMUNICATION FOCAL POINT FOR THE COMMUNITIES DELEGATION FOR TWO YEARS TERM. Philippa Jungova Lawson, a person living with HIV, was involved with developing policies as a founding board member on the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria. Currently, Philippa serves as Senior HIV/AIDS Advisor in the Futures Group International, a US based Organisation. She is also an active member of International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW), UK. She has been instrumental in developing the Guidelines for Improving Country Coordinating Mechanisms through Greater PLHIV Involvement and Challenging, Changing, and Mobilizing: A guide to PLHIV Involvement in Country Coordinating Mechanisms, which are being utilized and adapted with multi-sectoral bodies in numerous countries.
