Hey Kit,

Yes, I've used ephedra, actually it was ok to use it in last years

contest. I have to admit that I discovered it about 5 years ago. I've found

it to be a great fat burner, but the reason it burns fat is that it gives you

twice the energy when you train. When I used it I would take it 30-45 minutes

prior to working out. WOW, WHAT A RUSH! But go easy everyone, it gives you

the shakes, like drinking 10 cups of coffee!

Hey Kit,

Forgot to give you an update on my back. Well, I am currently undergoing

physical therapy and have 3 more weeks to go, they had me on some really

strong pain pills for a few weeks, knocked me for a loop, called Oxycontin.

Too strong, I was a zombie. During this whole time though all I've thought

about is getting back to that awesome energy level that BFL gives me. I have

felt that my body is totally out of control right now and have to say it

gives me a greater appreciation for BFL.

Count on me coming back stronger than ever soon. Damn I miss

it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm lurking in the shadows, best of luck to everyone!

LOL sounds like a command for a high strung dog. LOL Hurry up and heel!

Woof woof, woof woof woof, (Translated= YES MA'AM) lolol

I'm gonna try to make it over to Bob's Nutrition here in Orlando to see

Porter! I can't say to meet him, because I knew him before, lol yes, when he

was the manager at the Doll House lol (a club he worked at before the one in

the video). Yep, I knew the fat jolly ole Porter of old. I want to tell him

about our group more than anything. I have to tell you all that when I was

told I couldn't work out for a while I got really depressed, so bad that I

wanted to Un-subscribe myself from this group, only because the emails, as

you all know and I'm sure have thought from time to time, can get

overwhelming. Plus the fact of it teasing me like everyone saying, HAHA we

can do it and you can't! We can do it and you can't! lol But I never made it

to the unsubscribed stage, it would have been like cutting my umbilical cord.

It's like this group, and all that you wonderful people share, is my life

line. I just want you all to know that I sit in the shadow of you, YOU, as

being one collective group, YOU, as this huge Goliath mountain of muscle. I

just want to say that I am proud of all of you, I am inspired by all of you,

and I am honored to be one of you!!!!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK TROOPS!

Hey Pam,

Thank you so much for your input on BetaLean, I am so happy to hear it

is time released, any of us that have used ephedra know that it ususally hits

you really hard all at once if you take too much. I swear I have layed in bed

at night and thought I was laying on a trampoline because my heart was

beating so hard I could feel my body lightly bouncing up and down on the bed.

I agree -don't even think of leaving. My First, My Last, My

Everything...Mmmm. Glad to see you haven't lost that sense of humor! Sit

Sit. Hang in there. You are so much the core of this group to so

many of us...so here's one last command, Stay , Stay!! Love from

Leaner.

Hello Glenda,

Just thought I would answer your letter about the BetaLean. I do not know

for sure why it was taken off the shelf were you are at, but I have learned

that people are having a reverse reaction to it. They are having shakes,

hand tremors and nervousness. If you read the insert that comes with the

bottle you will see that it does warn about these exact things. (I was one

of those people that had those reactions.) I am taking the Phen-Free with no

problems so far. I have been on the Phen-Free for about 2 weeks now. I

called up EAS and explain to them what had happened and they allowed me to

return the bottle and get a replacement of the Phen-Free. Thought that was

very considerate of them. Hope this helps you out. Let me know if you hear

about any other possible reasons why.

Carolyn

There is a lot of contraversy out there about the use of ephedra.

I have tried both Phen-Free and BetaLean HP. I never take up to the recommended dose though. At first the BetaLean gave me jitters and made me anxious, but as use continued, or as I found the dosage for me, those went away. I only take one to two capsules a day now (on aerobic days). Maybe that isn't giving me the optimal results, but it's the dosage I am comfortable with taking.

Hi Al,

I have been taking Betalean for the past 8 weeks with absolutely no

problems. This surprised even me because I have mitral valve

prolapse and after being diagnosed 2 years ago, I eliminated all

caffeine and sugar (and stimulants like ephedrine) from my diet. I

had tried Metabolife a couple of years ago and gave most of the

bottle away after becoming so jittery that it felt like I'd taken a

double dose of my asthma rescue inhaler.

Just as a side note, since I have been on the BFL program (Jan. 18,

2001), I have not had any palpitations or angina associated with the

MVP and only 1 asthma attack requiring the rescue inhaler (and that

was because I was on the elevator with someone who obviously stumped

their toe while using their cologne). I attribute the improvement in

these conditions to the BFL way of life. So much of the program

incorporates what my doctor told me to do anyway, such as exercise

daily, drink lots of water, get adequate amounts of rest, eat right

and eliminate the simple sugars (as opposed to complex carbs) from my

diet.

I got kind of sidetracked, but I do like the Betalean and I do

believe that it is helping me with fat loss.

You CAN take Betalean and Betagen together

you should NOT take Betalean and PhenFree together since they are

both performing the same thing- burning fat. PhenFree is the ephedra

free version of Betalean

hope this helps :)

No, you should not take BetaLean HP with Phen-Free. They are both thermogenics and do the same thing. You could alternate them. You would still need to cycle off of both for a while (say every 4 weeks). I have found they both work well.

Don't take it if it worries you. I loved Betalean at first too, but I developed

a very irregular heartbeat after taking it for a few weeks. I ended up in the

cardiology unit, wired up like a lab rat and scared senseless. There's no way it

was worth it.

Betalean

Since I am new to this board...I do not know if you have had the Ephedra

discussion. I love Betalean but am worried that every time I take one, I

could possibly be setting myself up for something terrible. I find it

interesting that only the muscle mags say it's safe. There are countless

other articles in other health mags that really warn you about it. Too bad it

works so well. No food cravings and a nice little energy packet.

Any comments?

We have had lots of ephedra discussions, but it keeps coming up so

we need to continue disucssing it. I did Betalean for about 8

weeks, I didn't get sick, but I did think the sky was falling. I

broke up with BF every other day, I thought I was getting lots of

things done, but really I was just making a mess, I do think I had a

better 10 during cardio. Even with all that, the main reason I quit

taking it was that when I wasn't taking it I crashed big time. I

couldn't get off the couch, it was like I had a horrible flu. I

find that a good cup of coffee gets my workouts started just fine.

Oh and I did not lose any more fat while taking it than i have not

taking it.

metabolife which has ephedra in it is getting " looked at " by the FDA or some

other governmental organization due to all the complaints about health. They

claimed they only had a few when in actuality it was tens of thousands. My

thoughts: Don't chance it. It increases your heart rate and can cause heart

abnolmailies.

I had the same results! More energy... temporarily, but no added fat or weight

loss. My system took a few months to adjust after I stopped taking it. I do have

to honestly say I really like the energy it gave me but on a long term basis,

it's not really worth the " highs and lows. "
