Guest guest
I changed my mind---I don't want the lake! I'll keep the pool with an occasional family of racoons dipping or worse in it... I would be terrified to let my dogs out of the house with alligators on the loose!! I've lived here for 20 years---did you come from another part of Fl. 18 months ago or another part of the country, if you don't mind me asking? Sophia RE: Collard greens/ Bananas! I forgot about the banana trees! But in the 18 months we’ve lived here they’ve never fruited. Tons of mangoes, oranges, limes, lemons – and a great herb garden – but no bananas. I don’t have my tomatoes in yet, but I just bought strawberries to plant in the herb garden. Will get some tomatoes quick! Ummm, the lake also has an alligator or two in it.<G> Sharyn
Guest guest
Oh, we have lots more critters than that…coral snakes (found one in the pool one day and one in the herb garden not too long after that), bobcats, armadillos, black snakes, skinks, lizards (and aren’t alligators just big lizards?<BG>)…our little Jurassic acre of paradise.<G> We live next to thousands of acres of the Savannahs Nature Preserve, so have a myriad of critters who meander by. I’m a born Floridian, moved from Jupiter (about 45 minutes south of me now) to Philadelphia in 1974, lived there for 30 years, then moved back here in 2004. Just got tired of the winters. And spent a **fortune** installing whole-house generators and hurricane shutters on both our houses (the first one we bought here that my mom lives in now and the second one where we live now), so that we’ve single-handedly saved south Florida from ever having another hurricane.<BG> Sharyn From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of Sophia T I changed my mind---I don't want the lake!
