Hi Rena,

Probably the pasteurizing and homoginization(sp?). You can check out more info from the Weston A. Price foundation. Many people can eat raw dairy just fine. Raw still has all the enzymes present in order to digest properly.

Well, I'm getting conflicting info on this. I always thought that milk causes mucus, but this website claims otherwise: http://www.allergycapital.com.au/Pages/Milk%20Mucus.html while this one says it's an allergy reaction: http://www.milksucks.com/mucus.asp and this one gives anecdotal evidence that it does: http://www.fitsugar.com/280961 Personally, I still think it does, but don't know what part of the milk causes it. Not much help, sorry. Peace, love, laughter I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right, and in the middle. But I still hold water. Really? Do you know why? What is essentially different between cow and goat milk?

Goat Milk vs Cow Milk · Nutrient content of goat milk is slightly less than cow milk but goat milk is more digestible because the fat molecules are one-fifth the size of those from cow milk -- making it easily tolerated by those with compromised digestive systems. · Seventy-two percent of the milk used throughout the world is from goats. It is one-third richer than cows milk but more nourishing and easier to digest. · The flavor of goat milk is

comparable to that of cow milk. Goat milk has a milder taste. · Goat milk has no cream separation because of smaller fat molecules. · Goat milk contains pre-formed Vitamin A in the milk fat that allows it to be readily available for use by the body. · Goats milk contains a more highly-evolved cholesterol than cows milk, making it more available for absorption to the brain and body.

(Cholesterol is essential to the health of the myelin sheaths "white matter" of the nerves in the brain.) · Goat milk is closer to human milk and is therefore easily accepted especially by those young or frail. · Goat milk has an alkaline reaction the same as mother's milk. Cow milk has an acid reaction · Goat milk does not form mucous (phlegm) and is therefore better tolerated by asthmatics and those with allergies. · Goat milk contains more chlorine, fluorine and silicon than any other domestic livestock. Chlorine and fluorine are natural germicides and fluorine assists in preventing diabetes. · Goat milk contains 2% curd, which precipitates in the stomach. Cows milk is 10% curd. · Goats are naturally immune to diseases, such as tuberculosis, and are used in third-world countries to actually cure tuberculosis because of their inherent antibodies. · Goats milk is tolerated by a compromised /damaged liver because of the smaller fat molecules and it's naturally homogenized. · Goats milk has the ability to "sweeten" the intestinal tract and assist with constipation. · Goats milk contains a higher evolved carotene (pro-Vitamin A). Researchers have found this to have cancer preventing properties. Blua Birdo <bluabirdo@...> wrote: Really? Do you know why? What is essentially different between cow and goat milk? This is really interesting. Do you know if goat milk is also pasteurized like cow milk?

I still wonder, what creates mucus in mil?

Your info says that goat milk does not form mucous.

Perhaps because the fat molecules are different?

Thank you,

Rena

Are you sure it's protein? In this case, what's the difference between the protein in cow milk and goat milk? The info that Suzy sent said that goat milk didn't produce mucus. However, it still contains protein.

I would like to know more if you can share.

A few servings of whole natural grains won’t

hurt Rena. They are necessary for a balanced diet. Take this opportunity to

explore some grains you’ve never tried like quinoa or millet. You can

make nut milks that taste even better than cow’s milk and won’t

produce mucus. I found an interesting article here:

http://www.naturalark.com/cysts.html

Hope this helps.

Subject: Re:

question about dairy products

Hello Janet,

The main reason for my questions about what produces mucus

in dairy products is the fact that I have a large ovarian cyst that I'm trying

to eliminate naturally. The last ultrasound showed that the cyst is filled with

mucus.

I immediately stopped eating grains and dairy though I ate

dairy occasionally. I never felt any specific symptom for eating dairy or

grains so I can't say that I'm allergic to them. However, my system seems to

retain mucus and function slow. Soon after I stopped eating grains and dairy

the cyst was reduced, but it's still large.

Eating only vegetables and fruits is too tough for me. I

feel hungry and deprived. I have many problems in my life.

To accompany my meals (salads and raw soups) with a piece of

nice whole grain bread gave me some comfort.

I recently found they only soy cheese that I like, but

it contains milk protein. So I'm trying to determine what else I can eat

without compromising my efforts to eliminate this cyst.

Thanks,

Rena

Yes, I know about the good properties of whole grains, but I can assure you that when I stopped eating grains the cyst decreased and to eliminate it is a priority for me.

I eat quinoa often, but this is not a real grain.

I'm still entangled in finding out what produces the mucus in grains and in dairy products. Today I called a doctor in nutrition who has written many books and given many seminars. Believe it or not he told me that he couldn't give me an exact answer.

Thanks for these links. I'm reading. The diversity of opinions is really vast.

The reality is that I don't feel any symptom at all if I eat dairy products. The reason of my question and interest is that the ovarian cysts I have are filled with mucus and I'm trying to determine what to avoid in my diet to eliminate or decrease them.

I already eliminated dairy produts and grains and it helped.
