Guest guest
Here is an article regarding the importance of detoxing. The author also has a book out but I have never read it. Kenda By Lipman, MD In more than twenty-five years of clinical experience, I’ve had the great pleasure of working with thousands of patients from all walks of life. Over time, I’ve seen how few of us are able to stay healthy and feel really well as we get older. Many of us have come to accept developing a degenerative disease or simply feeling incrementally worse each year as part of the aging process. It’s not. There is so much we can do to take control of our health and support our bodies happily and healthily our entire lives. And it begins with understanding what kind of " burden " your body is under right now, today, both physical and emotional, and lessening it. Think of yourself as a ship floating in water. You will ride high or sink low depending on the burden you carry. The more burdens you unload, the better you will feel. I strongly believe that detoxification is an effective way to unload these burdens and is an essential — and often overlooked — aspect of total healthcare. In my book, Total Renewal, I go into detail about the seven steps I recommend to detoxify your body, rebalance your biochemistry, and build resiliency for a new lease on your health. I’d like to take this time to introduce the basic ideas behind this concept and the importance of detoxification. These steps reflect the same ideals and integrative approach I share with the practitioners at Women to Women, and I welcome the opportunity to bring them to you. So let’s begin. Effective detoxification is a necessity I came to realize the importance of detoxification after studying Chinese medicine and being in practice for a number of years. I learned from Chinese medicine that we (humans) are all microcosms of the macrocosm (the universe), that we are part of it and intricately connected to it. Therefore what is happening to the environment will and does affect all the species in it, including man. Environmental pollution is not only changing the ozone layer, plant species and animals, but humans as well. But only after seeing more and more young women with breast cancer and infertility problems; patients with chronic fatigue and chemical sensitivities; and more and more patients complaining of aches and pains and degenerative problems, did I suspect something was not right. It was at that time — about 15 years ago — that I realized that most of these problems were not " normal " aging problems, but rather malfunctioning detoxification systems. I was shocked to discover vast amounts of literature on where these toxins are coming from and what they are doing not only to the environment, but to our health and especially our children’s health. I began to identify one common link to many of the health concerns I witnessed in my patients: an inability to cope with their toxicity load. It was then that I realized that detoxification is an absolute necessity. Toxicity in our environment Although technology and industry have helped us to live more comfortably and have generally enhanced our way of life, we are paying a heavy price. The air we breathe, water we drink, and food we eat are no longer clean. Our environment is contaminated and polluted. Since the 1940’s there has been an explosion of synthetic products. We are the first generation of humans to be exposed to so many synthetic chemicals. In the past 60 years, these processes have been significantly altered: * how food is grown and packaged * how homes are built, furnished, and cleaned * how lawns and gardens are maintained * what cosmetic products we use For instance, there are approximately 75,000 chemicals now in common use. Of these, less than 3% have been tested for carcinogenicity, and no safety studies have been done on more than half of them. In our daily life, we now use more than 50,000 chemicals, more than 3,000 chemicals are deliberately added to our food and the average home contains more than 1,000 chemicals. The EPA has reported nearly 30 cancer-causing chemicals in the fatty tissue (where toxins are usually stored) in most Americans today. All these toxins put a heavy load on your system, causing you to feel like you are " sinking“, and increasing the need for detoxification. What is detoxification? Unfortunately most people think of detox as withdrawal from drugs like alcohol and cocaine, but actually it is much more. Detoxification is a primary function of the body — and the body’s most energy-consuming metabolic process. Your body is detoxifying all the time; it has its own body-cleansing system consisting of enzymes, hormones and lymphatic fluids that rid the body of unwanted materials or chemicals. Although it may sound like a strange concept and Western Medicine doesn’t pay much attention to it, there is a lot of research documenting the role of detox in health and disease. When I reviewed this literature, I discovered that in the last 20 years, scientific discoveries have given us great insight into our biochemistry and the intricacies of our bodies' detoxification systems. We now know that nutrition and lifestyle are critical in supporting our natural ability to detox. We know what nutrients are needed, as well as what chemicals inhibit and which ones stimulate the enzymes essential to detoxification. We also have a more sophisticated understanding of how chemicals from the environment — including medical drugs — are broken down and eliminated, what may prevent this, and what may help this process. Toxins (which I define as anything that your body interprets as harmful or stressful) enter your system in many ways, not just through your mouth. Everything we breathe or absorb through our skin, eyes, and ears can be a boon or a deficit to our system, not least of all emotional stress. To filter this constant stream of potential toxins, we need hundreds of enzymes, vitamins and other molecules. Our bodies must get the raw materials necessary to synthesize these molecules to help take the good from what we ingest and get rid of the rest. Detoxification as a physical process Your liver and gastrointestinal (GI) tract are the major organs responsible for detox. Think of them as your body’s sanitation department. Chemical conversions occur in these organs that fundamentally alter the molecular structures of substances so they become useful or not. It is important to remember that the GI tract, or gut, is the largest organ in your body. It’s responsible for your digestion, absorption, elimination, and immunity. It‘s also a sensory organ, connected to your brain through neurotransmitters and receptors. This means it is directly linked to your mood and perception of well-being. Your detoxification system gets overwhelmed when the rate of exposure is greater than what your body can handle, the liver and/or intestines are not functioning optimally, or specific nutrients required for detoxification are lacking. So balancing your gut and supporting your liver nutritionally are essential. A breakdown in your detox system results in a range of symptoms. Some are subtle, leading you to repetitive trips to the doctor. Eventually this breakdown may manifest as disease. Either way, the most effective approach requires a commitment to identifying and removing unnecessary burdens and providing needed support — not covering up symptoms with long-term medication. Assessing the burden on your detox system Once toxins enter our bodies, everyone responds differently. This individual response depends on genetically-determined available enzymes, nutritional status, how many toxins you have been exposed to over the years and the state of your detox system. That’s why, ideally, it is best to work with a practitioner knowledgeable in the subject to determine your unique needs. Please click here to examine a list of potential toxic burdens (there may be others, depending on the individual). Everyone has a different level of resilience to particular stresses, but no one is immune to the effects of a toxic overload. We just range in degree. Symptoms of toxicity These can be as varied as the individual, but generally speaking they manifest as: * headaches, fatigue, weakness, muscle and/or joint aches and pains * brain fog, poor concentration, irritability, depression, mood swings * allergies, stuffy nose, coughing * rashes, itching, hives * digestive symptoms/IBS/GI upset * sensitivities to chemicals, foods, drugs Toxicity may also play a role in the following diseases and conditions: * cancers, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, autoimmune diseases * PMS, infertility * irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia * psoriasis, eczema, acne Often, symptoms of toxicity first arise as digestive disturbances (bloating and gas after eating, foul-smelling stools, diarrhea and/or constipation), bad taste in mouth, acid reflux and heartburn. This usually indicates a growing food sensitivity or allergy that may be the first indication of a breakdown in your detoxification system. We become so used to feeling slightly ill after we eat (or all day long) that we mentally override our early warning systems. How to detox your body naturally Most detox programs treat the gut and the liver first, moving into detoxification of the blood and kidneys only after the GI tract and liver are functioning properly. I personally don’t recommend extreme fasts or harsh colon cleansers as they tend to shock your other systems by releasing too many toxins too quickly. This can leave you incapacitated and discouraged. Instead, I encourage you to look at detoxification as a paradigm shift — one in which you slowly and consistently work with your body to make different choices on what to remove and what to add to your total health picture. This is the only way to make permanent, fundamental improvements to your health and sense of well-being. It’s not the quick fix, but it works and it is never too late to start. In my book, Total Renewal, I explain the seven steps I think are necessary for supporting your detoxification system and enhancing your health. They are, briefly: Take responsibility for your health: This means paying attention to your intuition (and perhaps challenging conventional treatment) when you think something is not right. It means working to find a holistic practitioner you can trust to monitor your detox program. Remove toxins and decrease your toxicity load. This usually begins where most toxins enter our system, in the gut and liver, but importantly includes decreasing exposure to environmental and emotional toxins. Studies have shown that most people are likely to have the greatest contact with toxic pollutants inside their homes and offices. So creating a healthy home is essential, in addition to drinking filtered water, washing all your produce, and eating organic food. For more specific suggestions, log on to my website. One hidden source of toxins is cosmetics, lotions, and other body-care products. Click here for a list of unhealthy ingredients to avoid when shopping for these items. Recognize your unique diet: Follow a detox diet that substitutes lean, organic meats, whole grains, and fresh vegetables and fruit for foods high in chemicals, artificial additives, transfats and sugar. For more specifics on my Restorative Diet, go to www.lipmanworld.com. If your symptoms are extreme, you may need to follow a strict elimination diet that removes the most common allergens from your diet (dairy, wheat, eggs, peanuts, yeast, shellfish, beef, pork, veal, soy products, citrus, strawberries, nightshades, corn and chocolate) for a certain period of time and then reintroduce them. Treating GI conditions such as parasites, yeast overgrowth, or unhealthy bacteria through nutrients and diet is also part of recognizing what your individual digestive requirements are. Replenish nutrients and balance hormones: I strongly encourage you to work on this step with a professional healthcare practitioner who can determine what your individual needs are. Generally, this may include optimizing liver function, replacing stomach acids and digestive enzymes through supplements and reinoculating the GI tract with beneficial bacteria and microflora. Additionally, I treat any nutritional deficiencies with a good multi-vitamin that includes B vitamins. I usually add Essential Fatty Acids and other nutrients that may be necessary. Release tension and relieve stress: Mindful exercise like yoga and tai chi, combined with meditation are just as important to your detox program as your diet. Moving your body is the only way to release physical tension. It is best to try some combination of aerobic and strength exercise with stretching. Acupuncture, massage and other kinds of bodywork, particularly restorative energy work, are practices that have been proven successful at redirecting blocked energy and relieving chronic pain and stiffness. Lymphatic massage helps drain toxins from your glands — plus it feels good! Revitalize with a strict liver detox: You can’t be truly healthy if your liver isn’t functioning properly. Your gut is connected to your liver through the portal blood system. If your GI tract is dysfunctional, more toxins pour directly into your liver. The first five steps should help you rebalance your GI tract and your metabolism. This step is meant to fortify your liver. Liver overload occurs when the liver is exposed to more toxins than it can handle, you’re lacking or inhibiting critical nutrients and enzymes necessary for liver function, or you have a genetic predisposition. Once you have incorporated the first five steps of renewal into your life, you may be ready to go further with a one to three week liver detox plan. This entails: * following a liver cleansing detox diet/doubling your intake of filtered water * supporting your liver nutritionally * neutralizing free radicals * pursuing other detox measures (like lymphatic massage, sauna use, etc.) * getting lots of sleep and relaxation If you have followed all of these steps and still feel terrible, you may be experiencing heavy metal toxicity. This is best treated through a responsible healthcare practitioner with knowledge of biodentistry, chelation therapy, and specific detox procedures. Reconnect to yourself, others, and nature: Understanding our place in the Universe, where we belong, who we are, and what we are responsible for are some of life’s greatest challenges. But you can begin to find some answers by using the same approach we’re discussing. No one can be expected to figure it all out right away, but little steps can lead to huge strides over time — and a significant improvement in your energy and health. " Talk therapy " can be very useful at freeing our minds of mental burdens. Most of us carry some emotional baggage around. What we don’t often know is that there are lots of ways to either lighten or relinquish the load — but it’s hard to go it alone. Talk to your healthcare practitioner, trusted friend, or family member for referrals and don’t be afraid to try a few people to find one you like. Building community is the next ripple that extends past the drop of your personal detox pebble. Connecting with others in a positive way works both ways: it makes you feel better and makes others around you healthier too. Recognizing our deeper connection to a greater power, either through nature or religion, helps us to understand that each and every one of us are part of something larger than just ourselves. We are all powerful agents of change. It is my sincere hope that you will embrace your power and put it to good use, for your own health, that of your loved ones, and the world. Guest guest
Hi Kenda, I read about it in a book on the Hippocrates Health Institute and the work of Ann Wigmore http://hippocratesinst.org/lifechange.html It's a detox center, and one of the first things the clients did was eat watermelon only for 3 days upon arrival at the Institute. It is a detox of sorts before they begin eating a basically raw food diet. Watermelon is high in glutathione! That's the key for me! Guest guest
Very interesting! I had no idea watermelon was high in glutathione. I ought to be eating more of it. I couldn’t do a 3 day watermelon diet, I don’t weigh enough as it is. Kenda Hi Kenda, I read about it in a book on the Hippocrates Health Institute and the work of Ann Wigmore http://hippocratesinst.org/lifechange.html It's a detox center, and one of the first things the clients did was eat watermelon only for 3 days upon arrival at the Institute. It is a detox of sorts before they begin eating a basically raw food diet. Watermelon is high in glutathione! That's the key for me! Guest guest
There is no single detox program that we promote, although Dr. Kolb has a silicone protocol that she developed. What we have found is that there are general principles for detoxification that are good to follow for our healing, but each woman needs to pursue a specific course that she feels most comfortable with, and which implements the various methods of detox that she finds most appealing and/or effective. Some women are more tenacious than others, some women are more inclined to exercise than others, and we all have different palates and foods that we enjoy. So, a detox program is really tailor made for each woman. We've tried to share all of the information that we have gained over the past 7 years with each other. Our files section is a great resource. Other great resources are books, and on the subject of detoxification, there are many of them! I think one of the best is " The Maker's Diet " and " Patient Heal Thyself " by Dr. Jordan Rubin, other authors are Dr. Bennet ( " The 7 Day Detox Miracle " ), Ann Louise Gittelman ( " The Fat Flush Plan " ) and books on juicing, or the Gerson Therapy. There are also books on fasting, which can be pursued for both health and spiritual reasons. I recently posted my synopsis of detoxing....I'll post it again: Detoxing involves three efforts: 1) to stop putting things in the body that are toxic, or increase burdens of toxicity (such as foods with lots of preservatives, dead foods such as white flour, white sugar products, sodas, tap water that is chlorine and/or flouride laden, meats laden with hormones and/or chemicals, using alot of chemically based hygiene products such as tanning lotions and creams, and just plain exposing yourself to toxic fumes and other noxious things.) 2)to help coax the body into dumping its toxic burden that is already there from many years of exposures to toxins in our daily life. This means taking steps that focus on cleansing the liver, cleansing the bowel, cleansing the kidneys, which are our main eliminative organs. If these are working in top shape, then they can continue to eliminate effectively and efficiently. 3) and finally to build up health with good, pure, nutrient dense foods that also cleanse the body, such as enzyme and vitamin/mineral rich juices and plant foods. To begin a detox program, I would look for some books that outline a step by step routine that you can implement. There are books out there specifically for that, such a 's " 7 Day Detox Miracle " or, for dieter's, Gittleman's " Fat Flush Plan " . These will give you some good ideas to get you started so that you can continue a program at your own pace on a regular basis. Detoxing is a lifestyle that you learn to implement in your life. Toxins abound daily. So, once you learn the basics of helping to cleanse these organs, you can implement ideas that continue to support them on a regular basis. For instance, you can do a bowel cleanse to start. This might involve doing some enemas or some high fiber eating to get things moving out and clearing the path. Dr. Bernard Jensen's book gives good ideas on this. Some of these programs are hard to follow. It takes tenacity. But once you've got that cleaned out, you will want to eat right to keep things moving along and avoid further toxicity. After you've done the bowel cleanse, then you can do a liver cleanse to get that in tip top shape. It is also called a liver flush, and there are several recipes for that. A search on the internet will reveal much about this therapy. Pick one that you are comfortable with, (they are some intense ones or some very mild ones), and after you have done that, make sure you get on some supportive liver supplements such as milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid or N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC for short). Swedish bitters are also good for the liver. Herbal teas, such as dandelion, are great for the liver. Bitter herbs, like garlic and onion, are great liver supporters! There are things you can do for the kidneys--drink lots of water, take kidney cleansing herbs, such as uva ursi. There are things you can do for the lymph system....jump rope or use a mini trampoline, drink lots of water.. There are things you can do for the skin, another major eliminative organ....an infrared sauna is great to get your body sweating and dumping things through the skin. A rash or acne is your body's way of eliminating things through the skin when the other pathways aren't working as well. DRink lots of water! Exercise can get you breathing hard, which is good for detoxing the lungs. Have you ever noticed after alot of exertion that you begin coughing? This is your lungs clearing thing out. Deep breathing is important for the lungs! And drink lots of water! So, those are the main points. There are many, many things you can do to implement a detox program. The key is to take it a little at a time so that you don't feel overwhelmed. Step by step, day by day, you will begin to see results. And then it becomes a way of life. Supplements are important, but bad quality supplements can actually do more harm than good. So, I don't stress the supplements as much as the proper lifestyle of eating and taking care of the organs. But supplements do have their place, especially when we are sick and in need of extra boosts, and can't possibly get all the nutrients we need from our foods. I hope this helps you! Guest guest
Cherie, Cherie, As bad as you feel . . . thank your body for responding and treat it well. Drinking a lot of water will help pass the toxins. . . When I herx, I'm always happy to know that I hit on something I must have needed! . . . And that I'm going to be feeling better soon. Try to keep your mind occupied with something you enjoy! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
I think you are right Rogene, I think I hit on something - I am really herxing tonight. But I'm encouraged because I must be doing something right. God Bless! Cherie > > Cherie, > > Cherie, > > As bad as you feel . . . thank your body for > responding and treat it well. Guest guest
Cherie, My analogy of detoxing is that of war . . . You're sending your troups in to defeat the enemy! . . . That's warfare you feel going on! . . . The trick in detoxing is to learn how to manage the herxes so you don't get so sick that it deters you from continuing! . . . Keep a journal of what you are doing and how you feel. If a herx is so strong that you can't carry on normally, cut back and start again a little more slowly. . . . Gradually increase the amount/time/supplement until you feel the herx but don't get sick. Some women (Kathy can vouch) herx strongly to a lot of things. Nevertheless persistence pays off. Kathy is doing really well now and can do most detox programs with little distress now. Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Cherie, Good luck and I hope within a few days you're feeling better. Keep us posted. P.S. I'm going to be in Philly at a trade show with my hubby, so I'll be thinking of you as I'm on your " turf " . Guest guest
What and how do I do detoxing ? I mean I have slaine implants not silicone and I'm sick, the back of my head is numb,my neck and shoulders, arms, ribs and knees hurt....what can I do after explanting ? What do I need to do ? I want to be me again...this is awful.
Guest guest
Unfortunately people think saline means " safe " , but as many of us here have discovered, that's not the case. has had alot of luck with NCD (Natural Cellular Defense), and also has tried other supplements that have given her great relief. I think the other supplement was called Glutamine or something like that. She's having an explant soon, and you might want to look into that as well. Detoxing will only get you so far if you've still got the implants. I know how you're feeling, I remember being totally panic stricken and am so relieved the implants are out of me!! You don't usually get well overnight, but I've seen so many women coming here who have reported on eventually getting well again. Sis > > What and how do I do detoxing ? Guest guest
Yes, it awful, isn't it? We wonder how medical doctors can be so obtuse as to not realize that implants are causing some horrible damage to our bodies. We women have been talking about our symptoms for years but it's hard to get anyone to listen. We have lots of detoxing info in our website files section. Please go there and review all of the articles under healing therapies. You will find everything you need to get started. A detox program is very individual in terms of its execution. What works for one woman may not work for another, or one woman may want to try something that another is not comfortable with. You can pick and choose for the most part. But the basic thread remains the same....you need to STOP putting toxins in your body to the best of your ability (this means changing what you eat and how you eat it, as well as changing some of your personal hygiene products and limiting other avenues of exposure), and it also means doing therapies that urge your body to give up toxins that are stored in fat cells. This would involve things like fasting, colon cleansing and/or colonics, coffee enemas, infrared sauna therapy, exercise, lymphatic drainage (through things like jumping rope or rebounding on a mini-trampoline), liver and/or gallbladder flushes, skin brushing, and other therapies designed to promote efficient organ function. You will have to read up on these and become familiar with them--you can do alot of these things in the comfort of your home which can save you money. Or you can go to healing clinics that focus on detoxification. The choice is yours, but it is a good idea to only do what you are comfortable with, and that means educating yourself about these things. It will be well worth your time and effort, and of course, can lead you down a path of wellness that you will never regret going down. Hugs, PattyGMCLADY98@... wrote: What and how do I do detoxing ? Guest guest
Felice, I don't know about more reactive but I can tell you that when I first started taking the CSM I slept for months. That's about all I could do!! Fortunately for me I didn't have much else to do. My son was in his last yr. of high school and I feel like I missed a lot but so happy to have made it to his graduation in May. My husband did a lot of the housework and neither my son or husband were demanding about dinners. I would make a pot of spaghetti that would last for a few nights, stew in the crockpot, subs or pizza. I just would lay in bed, take tylenol PM, and sleep, sleep, sleep!! It was the best medicine along with the CSM which I never missed a dose of. I have heard people say that they felt worse before feeling better. I can only say that I slept for months and then felt like I came out of a coma. Lots of horrible aches and pains along with the severe fatigue!! Sue so, you say during csm protocol, and I just started antibiotics for the nasal bacteria, I may get MORE reactive?? I remember reading about this a few weeks ago but I think you guys had differing views. felice Felice,
Guest guest
Detox Recipes That Can Make You Feel As Good As New Have you been having problems with your bowel movements lately? If you have been suffering from constipation for sometime, it is time for you to cleanse you colon. Note that irregular bowel movements could create extra toxins that affect your entire systems. To get rid of the toxins in your body, you must cleanse your colon every now and then through natural detoxification process. Never attempt to use pharmaceutical drugs to detoxify your colon. Pharmaceutical products are mostly synthetic drugs that contain more toxins. In effect, if you use pharmaceutical products to detoxify your colon, you actually end up adding more pollutants in your system. Change in lifestyle and diet to a cleanse diet If you want to detoxify your colon, you should start by making some changes in your lifestyle and in your diet. You may not be aware of it but there are many types of foods that can actually cause constipation and build up impacted fecal matters in your colon. Food, which is rich in carbohydrates and fats usually takes longer time to digest and would often cause constipation. In some cases, people who eat too much carbohydrates and fatty foods would not be able to move they bowels for a couple of days causing unhealthy build-ups of fecal matters in the colon. To help solve your bowel movement problems, you should make changes in you eating habits and your lifestyle. Instead of eating plenty of carbohydrates and fats, eat food, which are filled with fibers. Note that fibers are natural colon cleansers and are easy to find in fruits and vegetables. Wheat and bran are also very good source of fiber. Try to get 25-30 grams of fiber in your diet everyday. You must bear in mind that change is your eating habit is one of the best recipes for cleansing your colon. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water. You need to drink at least eight (8) glasses of water everyday to stay healthy. Go easy on those carbonated drinks and those beverages that contain caffeine such as coffee and chocolate drinks. Herbal body cleanse Throughout the centuries, herbs have been used to detoxify the body. Herbs have been proven very effective in removing pollutants in the body as well as purge out some parasites inside the colon. A combination of aloe leaf, senna, ginger, cascara sagrada and cayenne pepper stimulates bowel movement. If you want to cleanse your colon, you should try this combination of herbs. On the other hand, black walnut could be a very laxative. It can also kill parasites in the colon when taken in higher dosage. Black walnut is known to be very mild and do not cause cramps, pains or nausea when taken so you can feel safe with it. Now, if you want to purify your colon, you might want to try a concoction made up of fennel and garlic. The combination of garlic and fennel can kill harmful bacteria in the colon as well prevent gas formation in the colon. The combination of garlic and fennel has been proven effective and do not have any harmful side effects. Suzi List Owner health/ http://360./suziesgoats What is a weed? Guest guest
***Hi Shirley,First, can you tell us about your diet?? What you eat, drink etc.. are you taking any meds, what herbs etc you take?Suzi Yes, I have been eating a really healthy diet for most part, rarely any red meat, no pork or seafood, more organic fruits and veggies, nuts and some unfarmed fish. I drink distilled water, no soda, very little caffeine or sugar. (Do like dark chocolate though). I don't drink or smoke. I read labels so try to avoid hydrogenated anything, msg, aspartame, sulphites etc. I quit eating wheat in 2001and I take Vit E, Liquid Magnesium, Vit C (large amounts of absorbic acid after chemical exposures), Kyolic garlic, Vit B5/B6 combo. I also take digestive enzymes once in a while when I have consumed too many carbs and get too bloated. I have also taken arnica montana and some homopathic drops and tinctures to deal with shingles and ongoing dental pain (from unhealing cavitation site) and now bladder issues. I have been to the moon and back to find resolutions, not to mention a small fortune to help with these painful issues. Any suggestions would be great. I just don't want to do a cleanse and make myself sicker. Appreciatively, Shirley
Guest guest
Hi Shirley,I've never done a kidney cleanse before a liver cleanse, but then again, I don't have all the issues that you do. I also use a more gentle cleanse, similar to the one you posted, but without the epsom salts. What's your diet like? Your exercise, do you drink sodas or smoke? Stuff like that.Peace, love, laughterShirley <canarycee@...> wrote: I am wondering if you have to do a kidney cleanse before a liver cleanse and if this is a safe cleanse to try? Guest guest
If it were me I would go for a colon cleanse to start. here is a colon cleanse which should be safe.. http://www.healthplusinc.com/frames/questionanswer.html I would also look at kidney or liver tea... rather than jumping in to a cleanse first. But please check the herbs in your product, against the Gabapentin and valium as there could be a reaction. Have you tried solving one problem at a time? Systematic Enzyme therapy may be a better road than cleansing with all you have going on.. but you really need to chat with a naturopath since we are dealing with several problems. Suzi Shirley <canarycee@...> wrote: Sorry it is Shirley again. I forgot to add that I am also on Gabapentin (compounded with acidolphilus (sp?), so no preservatives, additives etc. to help with neuralgia pain and also take Valium that is compounded again with acidolphilus on occasion to help with anxiety and muscle pain of Fibro. I am having more brain inflammation here. I think the csm is helping with pain but I stop and start over and over .. 2 times a day. three. gut feels overloaded.. not sure how to deal with that.. what to do. Taking 6000 grams of vitamin C and close to 1000 of magnesium. I am moving stools well. Still gut feels hard and like food is backing up. Additionally, the brain inflammation is making me wonder beyoind a CIRS deal.. if this is detox of metals and pesticides??? I have a history of heavy pesticide exposure as a child.. carpets literally drenched with it for fleas many times. Summer in the south. When I was using nasal glutathione.. same kind of brain inflammation. Last time I used IV, same.. though possibly not so mucb sinus inflammatio n with it. I have an infrared coming from heavenly heat saunas. I am also wondering about how to combine metal binders with csm and wondering if csm is a metal binder and might actually even PULL metals in some sort of way by pulling bile if the metals would be in the bile.. if I am releaseing them more.. are they in the bile and if they re then does removing bile itself cause a flushing out of fat soluable toxins (to include metals and then possibly pesticides.. are they fat soluable)???? If csm does not bind metals I am wondering how to add some chlorella, enough to bind or some low dose edta to mop up.. not sure how to combine with or take while taking csm and still keep up with supps and meds. Has anyone rotated CSM with other detox agents? Maybe I might be better off switching to clay, psyllium and add in charcoal from time to time. Anyone using any of the above and how are you dosing? psyllium husks or another form? How to handle multiple detoxes????? Thanks for any insights.. Guest guest
Robin you've been in a WDB for a long time IMO it would be short of a miracle for you to start feeling better this quickly. Also, you have to have an very strict diet, the last time I spent any time real time on the forum was halloween and you were eating candy/sugar. Last night for instance I had two twinkies which is something I never do and am paying for it today. I have to keep reminding myself that its my diet that's making me feel this way and not because I've somehow cross contaminated my hotel room or possibly been exposed to chemicals. Out of curiosity what now thats its the holiday did you cheat on your diet and possibly have a piece of pie or something else that would cause a flare up? Diet is extremely important I don't think that can be expressed enough. I've had both glutathione nasal spray and iv drips and didnt feel as though I received any benefit. Whats given me almost almost instant relief is ketoconazole nasal spray. Perhaps someone can correct me if Im wrong but CSM should be taken 4 x's daily and at the very least 3 > > I am grasping at straws at my symptoms. > > I am having more brain inflammation here. Guest guest
Well Tug.. I did have some candy on halloween several times for sure. I limit my sugar otherwise but am not 100% sugar free. I would say between 20-30 grams and few carbs. I agree diet is very important. I was on the GAPS diet for 4 months and am considering going back on something similar. Its good to see you focusing on your internal environment. I hope that is helpful for you and me as well because besides basic common sense " mold avoidance " , thats all I can do. Regarding CSM: If you cant tolerate it 4 times a day you cant. If you can twice a day and that works for you, I guess you go with that. I have delayed gastric emptying that is related most likely to dysautonomia not my diet. I have been grasping at straws with all the " hits " (esp when they involved brain inflammation which leads to harsh symptoms) and whether they are internally caused or externally caused.. or Glutathione is very powerful. If you need it, it works for you. If you are deficit you may need more and if you are sensitive to detox you can be affected adversely by it very easily with a harsh detox. Ive had to watch it with glut. All sprays I have used, glut or antifungal so far produce a very strong and scary detox.
