Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, > I strained a muscle in my neck a few weeks ago and have been going to a chiropractor to help the pain. I've been getting adjustments (using their hands only) 3 times a week but they've also been using something called Interferential Electro-Therapy which sends electrical stimulation to muscles providing improved blood circulation and muscle relaxation. Is this okay to do? +++Hi . I think that treatment is too invasive, and it puts electricity into your body. This is what I would recommend instead: 1) Mix oil of oregano 50/50 with extra virgin olive oil and soak cotton muslim or cheese cloth or gauge pad with it, and put it on your neck. You can probably keep it in place easily with a scarf, without having to tape it on. Keep it on overnight, and as much as you can during the day. When you take it off, put it in a plastic bag and keep it in the fridge for the next time - just keep replenishing the oil. Applying heat to it helps your body absorb the oil. Oil of oregano is as powerful a pain killer as morphine. 2) Do this neck exercise: scrunch up your shoulders and neck real tight so your head is being pulled to your shoulder, like a turtle's head in his shell, pulling it in real tight, and at the same time tightening your shoulders and bringing them up. Do this slowly and get all of the muscles as tight as you can, particularly the neck muscles; and hold it for a bit. Then very very slowly relax all of the muscles in that area, and take a deep breath. This helps relax the muscles tremendously. It might help if you do 3 deep breathing exercises just before you start this. 3) Ensure you eat plenty of red meat, since injured muscles need the nutrients in it very badly. 4) Ensure you are taking the right amounts of calcium and magnesium. Let me know if these help you. The best, Bee
