, long time... sorry to hear your daughter has problems. I would look to the female formulas for one thing... Essiac for another. Does she have a tumor? Do they know what is causing it or anything? However, there is evidence that aqueous-alcoholic extracts of chasteberry inhibits secretion of prolactin. Hyperprolactinaemia is associated with amenorrhea, therefore, chasteberry can be used to cure amenorrhea if increased levels of prolactin is the cause. This is another possibility. Here are a couple articles that you might get some insight and that you could research to find foods that have dopamine etc.. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/413811 http://www.integrativepsychiatry.net/dopamine.html Keep us posted.. I assume she is eating mostly raw and organic.. (knowing you) Suzi rdjc <rdjca4@...> wrote: Hi, My daughter is being tested for

If she does have this type of tumor, she

won’t need radiation or hormones. Surgery will not be recommended unless

she is having severe symptoms, which is not common. They will probably

recommend watching it and suggest a scan every year to check for unusual

growth. So until we know for sure that is what it is, I will hold off on making

any suggestions herbally. When you find out let us know and post a list of

symptoms as well.

prolactinoma

Hi,

My daughter is being tested for Prolactinoma... any suggestions in

dealing with this naturally? She doesn't want surgery, radiation, or

perscription hormones if she can at all avoid it. She's 20.

Hi Suz!

I missed this message when it first came thru and see now that it is

2 weeks old!!!

Anyway... the diagnosis is 'official'. There is a micro adenoma

(prolactinoma) which is a tumor on the pituitary gland that is

causing over-production of the hormone, prolactin. It is small but

enough to cause a plethora of symptoms, including irregular (too

many) menstrual periods and nasty headaches. They didnt seem to have

a cause for it. But they want her to go see a specialist 200 miles

away which is totally out of our ability (to pay for). So....

That's one of the herbs I'm considering giving her along with adding

one of the female forumlae as soon as I can acquire some. I have

been reading online that it can help lower the prolactin levels in

the blood but may or may not shrink the tumor. Some of the horror

stories I ran into while researching this .... not fun. Either with

herbs or pharmaceuticals.
