Hi and welcome! Yes, doctors will try to tell you stuff is all in your head

when there really is a problem. I was having problems breathing and " spells " at

work so bad my hubby almost took me to the hospital several times. I thought it

my be my thyroid. Goiters can get so big they can cause problems breathing.

Anway, my endo told me it was anxiety and gave me samples of some kind of new

anxiolytic. I handed them back because I knew I wasn't anxious and that I did

have some kind of problem.

He went ahead and ordered an ultrasound and chest x-ray " just to be sure " but

told me to take that medication for anxiety in the meantime.

the tests came back normal. In the meantime, I found out that my sister

developed asthma as an adult and that many other people in my family had asthma.

My sister's asthma attacks sounded just like mine.

I went to my PCP and got a referral to an allergist. Guess what he diagnosed me

with??? Asthma, of course...along with a bunch of allergies.

Anyway, trust your instincts!!! We know our bodies better than they do!!!

I also started on Levoxyl. Then my doc added Cytomel and that helped a lot but I

still had a lot of issues. After I started on Armour I have felt SO much better.

I strongly encourage you to do a search for Armour in our archives and you will

learn SO much.

I will also post a couple of links to get you started so you can learn about

this wonderful hormone!!! That's why I asked my doc for Armour...so many people

in this group and another thyroid group i belong to kept talking about how much

better they felt on it! And Wow, what a difference it has made!

http://www.armourthyroid.com/faq.html

http://www.thyroid.bravepages.com/dt.html

http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/mercola.htm

At the next website, you'll see a search button in the upper right hand corner.

do a search for Armour here.

Good luck & keep in touch. hugs, sheila

I am new to this group and I would like to share my story.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism just over a year ago. After my

initial blood tests I sought the advice of an endocronoligist. He

prescribed me 50mcg of levoxyl. I went back for a 2nd appt a couple

of months later and told him I was still feeling lousy. He

perscribed 2 cytomel 5 mcg tablets along with the levoxyl. I have

been taking this since November 2003.

Over the last three months I have started feeling yucky again. Very,

very tired. My hair is falling out...again! I can't take off any

weight. I have been experiencing mild depression and my face has

decided to break out. I have faithfully taken my medication every

morning, on an empty stomach, and wait an hour before eating anything.

I feel awful not only physically, but emotinally too. I quit my job

about 6 months ago and have been lucky enough to stay home with my

wonderful 3 year old daughter. Because I can't seem to wake up or

stay awake I haven't been able to take advantage of spending quality

time with her. I can't seem to keep up with chores, I have a

terrible time remembering to keep bills paid or take care of some

important tasks and appointments.

I don't want to go back tothe endo I went to before. Especially

since the second appt he told me that some of my symptoms were in my

head. Nothing will piss me off faster than to be told by a medical

professional that I am not experiencing symptoms I know damn good and

well I am. By the way his name is Caruso. So if anyone in

the Reno area needs and endo...don't go to him.

Anyhow, any advice or doctor recommendations anyone would be willing

to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for letting me vent

Hi ,

I agree with you, the problem is the doctor. Different meds or different

dosages will take care of your symptoms.

Have you tried the doctor list at www.thyroid-info.com?

Hello! Just wanted to say a quick hi and a little about myself. I'm Connie, a 36 year old work at home mama to 3 lovely kiddos (ages 10, 5 and 2). My husband and I believe in taking responsibility for our own health and the health of our family. I am always learning about herbs (have a small organic business) and taking online courses on homeopathy. We eat organically, don't use any chemicals in the home, and I make all of our cleaning products and most of our personal care products myself. We do not believe in vaccination and haven't been to the doctor in years (except for a trip to the ER for stitches recently)!

I'm looking forward to learning and sharing with you all! Oh, I'm also a massage therapist (hubby too) with a passion for natural healing!!

I just checked out your website.. nice. I see now you're in SC. I'm in Illinois..

Question...SUPER IMMUNITY SYRUP (new formula) ~ Kicks the immune system into high gear to better deal with illness, may also be used as a preventive measure

with organic echinacea root and tops, astragalus root, dandelion root, marshmallow root, peppermint leaf, cinnamon bark, rosehips, elderberries, raw honey and organic apple cider vinegar

I'm pretty sold on Complete Tonic

Complete Organic Sulphur with Turmeric Tonic (AKA Complete Tonic)

(Nature's antibiotic)One handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw onionsOne handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw garlicOne handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw gingerOne handful or about 1 cup or 8 ounces chopped organic raw horseradishOne half handful or about 1/4 cup or 2 ounces of chopped organic raw habaneros

Have you ever tried this? If so, how do you compare the two?

No I have not tried the complete tonic although I have seen similar recipes. I'm not much for nature's spiciness and pungency! :o) I should try it sometime though; I'm sure it works well! We do often use organic ginger, cinnamon and turmeric mixed with a litle raw honey for fighting illnesses. I've been swigging on my immunity syrup all day to avoid the cold that my little snot noses woke up with this morning! We rarely get sick and when we do it ends up rather mild and short term with all the herbal assistance.
