WARNING! This has nothing to do with health, but you are my friends and when I have a question I usually ask my friends.

My daughter moved out and I am making her room my sewing room. She was allowed to paint it any way she liked. She chose HOT pink (picture Barbie but glow in the dark bright)! And to top it off it's high gloss. Ceiling and all walls.

We had a feng shui consultation a while back and she thought the colors and designs on the walls were very creative and would work for my sewing room, however, I cannot see colors when I am in the room! Not a good thing for sewing and quilting! She (feng shui lady) thought maybe to just put a wash of white over the pink to tone it down and keep the creativity of the room. I'm all for that, but don't know if I have to do anything to the walls first or if I do prep the walls will it make the white "grab" too well and then I'm into a mess of having to paint everything three times to get to all white and a new path of color for the room? (Phew, that was quite a sentence!)

Thanks for any knowledge any of you can impart to my new adventure.

Shari,

What kind of paint is it, the high gloss? Is it latex or oil? Latex will take a wash better than oil. Oil you'd probably have to etch first.

And studies have given evidence that colors, and our perceptions of them, definitely helps us maintain good good health.

Peace, love, laughter

Thanks , that is good news because it's latex. I'm taking the door off and will experiment on it. I was going to strip it anyway and have just a wood door to the outside. It would be a good place to try on washes.

Shari, why don’t you paint the room a

more reasonable color and just leave a trim of crayon pink? That way you would

still keep some of the old and have the lighting you need to sew. Feng shui

uses other things besides color to promote creativity anyway. If it were me, I’d

make it what I would like it to be and am most comfortable with, because I am

more creative in an environment I perceive as beautiful. Have fun in your new

room, can’t wait to hear about what you make in it.

Cooky,

I am finally finishing my HANDS OFF MY HEALTHCARE  sign-

started it a few weeks ago but have had strange health issues- stomach and now

trying to heal my mouth- long story.

Do you think the bill will still get passed?
