Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for reminding me about cedar berries--had read about them years ago. I have recently been doing research on herbs and such that help diabetes and had decided that was a route I wanted to try. I am a bit confused about some things though--there are quite a few different herbs like devil's club, goat's rue (supposedly also regenerates pancreatic cells), etc. Have run into Chinese and Indian herbs also. I'm wondering about the difference between cedar berries and juniper berries. Some differentiate between the two (like ) and some don't. I couldn't find any Schulze information about cedar berries but did find Panc Tea on the Dr. site (http://www.drchristopher.com). I know that the health food stores are uneasy about carrying herbs that affect blood sugar (don't know exactly what brought that about in recent years). They don't carry many products, and I'm not sure why they carry the specific ones that they do. I will check out my local store for the cedar berries--think I saw some. The herbal consultant told me she gets an infection in her mouth every time she eats anything sweet including fruit, so she's been taking the devil's club combination and it helps that. It is my estimation that glucose management problems are part of the hypometabolism that people have (thyroids, adrenals, etc.). Here is an article that points in that direction: http://www.naturomed.com/hypo.html The Broda book Hypothyroidism the Unsuspected Illness says that higher cortisol promotes hypothyroidism. Eliminating the undesirable carbs would help cortisol levels I imagine. I can't even tolerate white flour products much--they make me feel bad. I figure I'll try some of the herbs too and see what effect they have on my metabolism. Apparently most of the public has some degree of pancreatic distress, and it's easy to see why! J.
