Guest guest
Theresa turns 7 soon and will be having her first birthday party (she never wanted one before). I've invited the 3 girls from her self- contained class and the 7 girls from her mainstreamed class. I don't know how many will be coming. We're just having it at our house and the weather will probably restrict it to indoor activities. Does anyone have any suggestions what to do with a bunch of 6 and 7 year-old girls? I am so out of it and Theresa can't give me any help. I'm looking for ideas on games, a craft, or even a theme. I know I can start poking around on the internet, but I'd probably spend hours & hours doing that!! You can email me privately, if you'd like. Thank you in advance for your help!! Debbie I. Guest guest
hi Debbie I don't know how much space you have available for the party but here are a few ideas. - a treasure hunt. if the kids can't read yet, maybe they can follow picture hints? - a dance party. if you have a video camera you can tape them and play their dancing back on your computer. a couple of wild and glittery costume things make it just wonderful (shawls, beads, belts, vests, feather boa, whatever you have in the dress-up box) - if they are up to the fine motor abilities they can thread beads and make themselves jewelery (always nice for quiet kids, especially if there is a wheel chair kid among the guests) - plaster imprints of their hands. always a lot of fun - there are quick-drying molding materials (instead of clay which dries much too slowly) with which the kids can form little bowls or animals and paint them almost immediately afterwards. - colored paper and colored glue sticks, glitter, etc to " paint " wonderful glitter pictures/shapes/modern art - plastic empty pop bottles, a few marbles inside, or rice kernels, or dry beans, etc and then cover the bottles in papier mache, let dry and paint. they make wonderful shakers. just give a holler if these ideas don't fit because of abilities, whatever. then i can dig up some more ideas have fun gundula in germany
Guest guest
When Maverick was in 1st grade, we had the kids make and decorate little picture frames out of popsicle sticks. We then used a polaroid camera and took photos of each child with Mav. We put magnets on the back and they all took them home and put them on their fridge. Now, this was pre-digital camera time so it would be much easier now with the camera and printer.
