Guest guest
Hi, I am a newbie in all this but I have been on some herbal remedys for a few months now. I get them from Dr. n Whitaker's Health Directions Program. He has a package that is two different pills. One is called Herbal Pain Essentials.. Each dosage contains..(2 pills every morning) 100 mg Boswelin Extract 200 mg Bromelain 2000 GDU extract 100 mg Devils claw extract 200 mg Yucca Root Powder 125 mg Feverfew powder 200 mg Alfalfa Powder 300 mg White Willow powder 100 mg Ginger Root Powder 50 mg Passion Flower Powder 50 mg Horsetail Powder 50 mg Celery Seed Powder The other pill is called Joint Essentials....I take 4 of these a day in a divided dosage.....(2 am ~ 2 pm) 4 pills contain: 500mg Glucosamine HCL 500mg Glucosamine Sulfate (potassium no sodium) 200 mg Chrondroitin Sulfate (Shark Cartlage) 200mg Tumeric (95% Curcumin) 200 mg Sea Cucumber 130mg Grape Seed Extract 50 mg Superoxide Dismutase 10 mg Ascorbal Palmitate In a base of certified organic flax seed oil. The joint essentials set cost $49.90 per month. I think it has helped me a lot and it is only 6 pills a day to swallow. I learned about the antibiotic protocol from Dr. Whitaker's book on arthritis. I got the number to the Road Back Foundation from him. I think that he has wonderful vitamins! Maybe I sound like an advertisment but if it was not for him I would never have known there was an AP. Now if I can only get my doctor to prescribe. Next Wednesday is my big day!!

Guest guest
Hi Dave, My husband has been using the boswellia, since Joe Graff wrote of his success. Denny cannot take the other nsaids any more as they have created stomach problems for him. He has osteo and we suspect RA also. He has had great relief from this with the boswellia, like Joe he is taking 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. We ordered them from the Vitamin Shoppe like Joe did also. We also ordered our acidolfilus from there. Den says the pain in his hip is much better. He has only been on it for about 3 weeks. Ray Barrett's report yesterday, was also a great deal of help in reaffirming our decision to take this. I started on it myself about 3 days ago. I have RA and have been in a great deal of pain from the hands, and knees, shoulder and neck for about 10 consecutive days now. I am hoping this will help me as much as it has Denny. I have been taking Ibuprofen for the last 8 years, and have had no known problems from it, but after reading all the reports on this list, I have realized that the problems are probably there, I just have not realized it yet. So I am hoping that by stopping the ibuprofen and using the boswellia, I will head off some of them. Guest guest
Dave, I have used Boswellia. I only had RA for a year and consider it mild. (I started AP very soon) For me Boswellia is the first line of defense when I have pain. I have not used ibuprofin or similar drugs. The recommended dosage on the package is 1 tablet, 3x per day, with meals. My version has equivalent Boswellic acid 150mg each tablet. I have taken less that this dosage and found help. Guest guest
Hi Sue, I ordered mine just today, along with Cranberry gelcaps and DLPA. The brand others have used and the one I ordered was Solaray for the Boswellia. Guest guest
Hi Debra: I once ordered some good priced suppliments thru the mail too but the postage and handling raised the price way too much to make it economical as compared to purchasing the same products locally. Also, you did not mention the strength or dosage that you purchased. I purchase the NOW brand of boswellin locally at a health food store, $18.95 for 120 capsules, which include 250mg boswellia serrata and 100mg of Curcumin. I like the idea of taking the combo of two inflammation fighters at once. Better health, Al In a message dated 99-02-18 23:43:19 EST, you write: << Since there has been a continuing discussion on Boswellia, thought I'd pass on this information. Don't know if it's a good deal or not, but I ordered mine today from the Vitamin Shoppe at $14.86 for 60 ct. You decide. >>
Guest guest
I had been confused about boswellia re: whether to take with or without food. I always took without then heard take with....so, I called up Willner's a huge drug store that sells only herbs and vitamins and supplements. Their pharmacists say boswellia and mega-bromelain, both of which reduced inflammation, are best used on an empty stomach. Has anyone received info that conflicts with this from an herb-type person etc. Thanks
Guest guest
Hi there I used Boswellin for 1 years and was happy with it. It for me took the place of prednisone. As I continued to gather information on what can help me with inflamation. I found another natural element called Sea Cucumber. Yes, from the sea! I use it now 100% as a anti-inflamatory, which them took the place of both prednisone and Boswellin. I will not go on a trip somewhere without it. I also take Glucosamine Sulfate for joint support rebuilding. I live with RA and Discord Lupus. I am able to do construction work using Sea Cucumber. I take absolutely no pharmacy medication. I noted that some individuals indicated that they tried Boswellin with no relief. You might need to check to see if you are using the correct (mg.) strength for you. I have found that if there is no relief from inflamation, its usually due to the mg. being to low. The concentration must be correct for you just like anything else. I wanted to share my information regarding Sea Cucumber. Maybe someone might want to try Sea Cucumber (anti-inflamatory), it might work better for you. Sincerely Marcia
Guest guest
Hi Marcia, I've been taking a supplement that has 100 mg Sea Cucumber in it (as well as the Glucosamine Sulgate and Chondriotin, etc). I have been taking it for a month (almost to the day) 3 times a day. No change yet, but heard it takes a month before you see improvement. Was that the case for you? Guest guest
Hi , It depends on what you are using them for. Bromelain for example has ani-inflammatory properties as well so if that is the effect you want it should be taken away from food. i.e. two hours after eating and 1 before. If it's used as an enzyme to aid digestion then it should be taken after meals. This is a Naturopath's advice. Hope this helps, hugs, lisbeth rheumatic Re: boswellia >From: SEG14@... > >I had been confused about boswellia re: whether to take with or without food. >I always took without then heard take with....so, I called up Willner's a huge >drug store that sells only herbs and vitamins and supplements. Guest guest
Hi There My health food store has on stock a product distributed by " NOW FOODS " sea cucumber 500 mg. 100 capsules for $9.72. Many health food stores will at least match other health food stores prices. To help on cost, maybe your store will do the same. Its worth a try. You find your own company distributed name brand and see if they match price for you. Follow the instructions on the container. I take 3 capsules daily 500 mg. per capsule, preferable with meals. When I know I'm going to push my self harder physically then normal. I have taken up to 5 capsules daily. The only know side effects that I have found noted on sea cucumber, is a mild cramping in the stomach, IF TAKEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Any research I have done on the sea cucumber has indicated that might happen, IF TAKEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. When I don't fill like eating or its not convenient at a given time. I carry Spirulina tablets for a food supplement. Spirulina is a pure vegetable plankton grown in the fresh water lakes of Cental America. It is exceptionally rich in complete protein, vitamins and minerals. To give you additional information regarding Sea Cucumber, which may provide additional comfort on the same. Sea Cucumber has been used in China for thousands of years as a treatment for forms of arthritis. Modern research has confirmed they are beneficial for musculoskeletal inflammatory diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, a rheumatic disease that affects the spine. Researchers believe that sea cucumbers improve the balance, of prostaglandins, which regulate the inflammatory process. Sea Cucumber also contain substances known as mucopolysaccharides and chondroitins, which are often lacking in people with arthritis and connective tissue disorders. In addition, sea cucumber provide vitamins A, B, (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), and magnesium, and C, as well as the minerals calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc. I'm not proclaiming to be a doctor of any kind. I'm just sharing what I have found, that might help anyone interested. I don't leave home without the stuff. Sincerely, Marcia

Guest guest
Dr. Pat, I tried it for awhile and didn't find that it did anything for my RA symptoms but I did feel that it was bothering my stomach. I had a mild burning feeling for most of the time that I took it. I have heard others say they found it helpful, though, so I guess it's just a case of what works for some, doesn't work for others. Guest guest
Hi, I take 300mg 65% bosweillic acids by Nature " s Way - one three times a day. I took them for two months, then stopped to see if I noticed any difference. I did notice that I needed to use Naproxen more often so have gone back to using the bosweilla and less of the Naproxen. I have had no problem with side effects. I also take one teaspoon of aloe vera gel before each meal which eliminates any discomfort that the pills might cause. Luckily, they had frankincense, aka boswellia, a traditional Ayurvedic medicine for arthritis and joint injuries. In a study published in Alternative and Complementary Therapies, Egyptian researchers gave people with osteoarthritis of the knee boswellia and turmeric or a placebo. After three months, the herb group showed significantly greater relief from knee swelling. Suzi List Owner health/ http://360./suziesgoats What is a weed? Guest guest
Liquid glucosomine would be good. You can also buy MSM in powder form and can add to apple juice or whatever..or make your own capsules (vegetarian type). Vitamin D would also be a help, calcium with magnesium also. Suzi "Egyptian researchers gave people with osteoarthritis of the knee boswellia and turmeric or a placebo. After three months, the herb group showed significantly greater relief from knee swelling." I wonder if these could rehydrate the discs also? I'm looking for an alternative to msm and glucosamine supplements.
