Guest guest Posted January 5, 2008 Report Share Posted January 5, 2008 Hey everyone, Does anybody know how to convince the school to provide a one on one aide for my daughter? She has been " lost " twice and so has another little boy with ds (he got really far away!). The school insists 1:1 is not beneficial to the child as it makes them feel more " different " and less likely to interact with other children so as a general rule they don't do that. I say who cares...I just want my child to still be there when I pick her up and not missing. I do want her to gain social skills but not if the cost of that is her safety.
