Here are my 3 favorite websites with great ideas (see, you don't have to

surf, I already have my favorite birthday sites marked!). I always pick

a theme based on my child's current favorite... character, TV show,

etc., and usually just go from there. We have had Gardening, Ladybug,

Horse, Wacky Science, Rock Climbing, Dora the Explorer, Barney,

SpongeBob, VeggieTales, Rock Star Karaoke, American Idol, and Shrek 3,

to name a few :-) Pretty much, you can pin the tail (or whatever) on

anything, and that's always a good game. Ditto with a " hot potato " type

game (passed item and/or music can go with party theme.) A party-themed

accessory is a good craft to begin with (while you wait for stragglers),

like a tiarra for a Princess party, lei for hawaaian party, etc. At

6-7, I would still have themed coloring pages printed out in case we

needed extra activities, or someone just didn't want to do something.

Princess is always a great theme for this age, and easy to find stuff

for anywhere.

Have fun! Unfortunately for us, is starting to tell is what

she wants, and it's way more work! This year, we're going to eat lunch

at Corvette Diner, a really popular 50s diner downtown, and she wants me

to make poodle skirts for all the guests! Her birthday is the 16th, so

it's not looking good for the poodle skirts, LOL.

Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions. I'm waiting for the RSVPs

to get an idea of how many girls I'll be dealing with before I finalize

the party plans. I will post to let you know how it goes!
